As today is considered information and communication age, we still have limited knowledge of brain functions. As a result, major diseases and psychosocial problems directly related to brain functions such as Alzheimer's disease, schizophrenia, Parkinson's disease, autism, depression and substance abuse have not yet been radically treated with drugs.
In recent years, more resources have been devoted to scientific research and development work in the treatment of brain-related diseases in key countries where the level of development in science and technology cannot be questioned. According to the statements of some important scientists, it will be a period when scientific studies on the brain researches of the century we are in will be the forefront and important solutions for brain diseases will be presented. In this context, unquestionably in the field of neuroscience research, the United States, the best in the world, declared the 21st century "brain-centric".
Scientific research has gained a great importance in finding the causes of diseases and in developing new medicines for treatment. In order to conduct research in accordance with universal standards of science, adequate laboratories, adequate navy and well-trained scientists are needed in laboratories.
Üsküdar University is a thematic university that focuses on brain research. Qualified scientific research and projects have all the possibilities that can be produced with a multidisciplinary approach and can be carried out in a healthy way. Neuropsychopharmacology neuroscience is an important and dynamic area that covers all research activities for the development of new and more effective drugs for the treatment of diseases associated with the central nervous system. Many other independent disciplines such as biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics and biophysics, especially in psychiatry, pharmacology, neurology and psychology have collaborated. Neuropsychopharmacology research is carried out in many scientific countries. For these reasons, Neuropsychopharmacology Practice and Research Center (NPFUAM) was established at Üsküdar University, a thematic university with a focus on brain. NPFUAM is the first center in our country to focus on doing such scientific research. In the world, this is one of the few centers that have this function.
