NPFUAM Neurochemistry Laboratory
Neuropsychopharmacology Application and Research Center Neurochemistry Laboratory (NPFUAM) was established in 2018 within NPFUAM at Üsküdar University, which has a thematic university vision in the field of neuroscience.
It is one of the few centers in the field of neuropsychopharmacology in the world and it is the only center in this field in our country. By adopting visions and purposes of the Neurochemistry Laboratory NPFUAM within the NPFUAM, we aim to carry the center further and it focuses on understanding neurochemical balance and mapping neurochemical systems in mammal in nerve system with etiological and pharmacological purposes.
What consists of the fundamental vision of NPFUAM NCL is understanding neurochemical balance from micro level to macro level, in other words, understanding chemical structure and function in brain from intracellular molecular pathway in single cell level to molecular systems performing neural function, from neurotransmitters providing communication between neurons and to the systems formed by these neurotransmitters in brain. Specifically, the focus of the laboratory consists of a neurochemical mapping in the areas and sub-systems that stands out in neurodevelopmental disorders.
