Important Announcement About Pedagogical Formation Education (September 20, 2023)

PEDAGOGICAL FORMATION EDUCATIONÜSKÜDAR UNIVERSITYPEDAGOGICAL FORMATION EDUCATION APPLICATION PRINCIPLESAt the meeting of the General Assembly of Higher Education dated 29.12.2022, it was decided to provide pedagogical formation education to students who continue formal education in fields where pedagogical formation education can be received outside the faculties that train teachers.Click here for the YÖK letter on Pedagogical Formation Education.Participation in pedagogical formation education is optional.The course programs prepared for pedagogical formation education are given below.The courses taken in pedagogical formation education will be reflected on the student's transcript and included in the General Weighted Grade Point Average (GPA). The successful courses of the students who start pedagogical formation education but then leave the education without completing the education will be indicated on their transcripts. The phrase "Completed pedagogical formation education" will be written on the back of the diplomas of students who have completed pedagogical formation education.In matters not covered in these procedures and principles, the provisions of "Üsküdar University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations" apply.Details About Pedagogical Formation EducationPedagogical Formation Education courses will be given in Turkish.According to Üsküdar University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations, Article 16/2 titled "Registration Renewal", the student who requests Pedagogical Formation Education must renew his/her registration after paying the tuition fee determined by taking into account the ECTS course credits within the period specified in the academic calendar at the beginning of each academic year when the normal education period of the program is completed within the scope of this article.    Only students of the departments specified in the table below can apply for Pedagogical Formation Education.Students who want to take Pedagogical Formation Education are required to fill out the application form below within the course registration period specified in the academic calendar and send the wet signed application form to the relevant faculty secretariats by e-mail or hand deliver it in line with the approval received by the advisor.Click here for the application form.Click here for the academic calendar.The forms approved by the relevant Faculty Administrative Board will be notified to the Student Affairs Department and the course selection procedures of the students will be processed in the student information system (OBS). 2022-2023 Summer Term Applications (Update: 27.07.2023)

Click to view the list of courses offered.Notice: Exams will be held face to face.Click here for course registration.Apart from the courses mentioned below, the courses planned to be opened according to the number of applications will be announced on the Faculty / Vocational School website on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 and our students will be able to register for distance courses between July 26 and August 2, 2023 via the link to be published and make their total ECTS payments as stated below. ECTS Fee Payment Conditions:1. The full amount of the ECTS fee should be made to the bank accounts listed below by direct money transfer or EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer)2. The payments that are made through banks must state ‘Summer School’, ‘Republic of Türkiye Identification Number’ and ‘The number of ECTS payments made’ on the payment slip.3. Faculty of Communication

It is observed that communication, which has central preserve in every aspect of human and social life, takes on the role of engine power as social change and transformation parallel to the developments in information technologies. In our world of information age, communication is dominant not only in the present but also in the form of the future and it reveals how important and necessary communication education is.


Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication has also undertaken the task of raising qualified communicators with well-trained academic staff, equipped with state-of-the-art physical facilities and an educational and training program suited to its mission and vision.


Departments in Faculty of Communication 

In 2013-2014 Academic Year, Faculty of Communication was founded and had three departments: Communication Sciences, Advertising Design and Communication, and New Media. By 2019-2020 Academic Year, the faculty has seven departments: Media and Communication, Radio, Television and Cinema, New Media and Journalism, Visual Communication Design, Advertising, Public Relations and Publicity, Cartoon and Animation.


Education in Faculty of Communication

Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication is completed in five years, with a total of four years undergraduate education, one year of English preparatory study. Students who do not want to take English preparatory courses complete their undergraduate education in four years.



The curriculum at Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication, which provides four-year undergraduate education in addition to English preparation, has been prepared in order to have a solid intellectual basis and to acquire necessary knowledge in professional terms. In the first two years of undergraduate education at Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication, general scientific formation courses are mainly given, and within the next two years, the emphasis is given to the professional courses required by the department. Thus, at the end of four years, the student has both a solid intellectual formation and professional knowledge and knowledge in communication.
