Child Development Laboratory

The field of child development is an interdisciplinary field of science that evaluates the development of all children from prenatal to adolescence without any discrimination and develops, implements and monitors supportive programs for them to reach the highest level of their potential. Child development is a professional group that aims to provide service to families, professionals and society while conducting science-based studies in the field of children with a multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach.

As the Üsküdar University Child Development Department, we aim to train child development specialists who have important responsibilities in the development of children in our society and to prepare them for the profession in a theoretical and practical way. For this purpose, our Child Development laboratory has been organized as "Child Development Research and Application Units".

Purpose of Child Development Research and Application Units:

Developmental assessment, interviewing with the family, monitoring the child's development, creating and implementing parent support programs, conducting child-focused family interviews, interviewing children with special needs and their families, evaluating children with special needs, determining educational and developmental needs for the child and family and creating programs, attachment-based parent support programs, developing games and game materials, developmental game applications appropriate for developmental periods are carried out.

The applications carried out in the units allow students to make observations within the scope of the department curriculum and to carry out applications with one-on-one studies under the supervision and control of the relevant course instructors. In this way, it is aimed for our students to gain experience in working with children and families before graduating.

In the Child Development Research and Application Units, scientific research and applications are also provided within the scope of undergraduate and graduate theses and student projects.
