Short CV

Born in Gölcük in 1982, Gülçin Şenyuva graduated from Haydarpaşa Anatolian High School in 2000 and from the Psychology Department of Istanbul University in 2004. During her undergraduate education, she voluntarily took part in the "Psychosocial Support for Schizophrenic Families" project at Bakırköy Psychiatric Hospital.
In 2007, she completed her master's degree with her  thesis on "Evaluation of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in Persons Exposed to Physical Violence" at Istanbul University Forensic Medicine Institute and received her specialist diploma. She is still continuing her doctoral studies at the same university.
Between 2006-2007, she worked as a group therapist and trainer in the Turkish Psychological Association and EU Supported “Compete with Menopause and Andropause” project. Between 2007 and 2013, she worked as a trainer and psychologist at the Ministry of Justice, General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses. Between 2013 and 2015, she worked as a part-time lecturer at various universities and gave courses on Forensic Psychology, Psychotherapy Theories, Psychosocial Intervention to Trauma and Psychosocial Intervention for Special Traumatic Groups. Between 2013 and 2015, she worked as a psychotherapist in the Sexual Dysfunction Unit at Private Academic Hospital.
SHe received 450 hours of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy training given by Prof. Mehmet Z. Sungur, approved by the European Association of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (EACBT), and was entitled to become a CBT Therapist. 1st and 2nd Module Sexual Dysfunction given by CETAD and she received the Couple and Sexual Therapies training given by Prof. Mehmet Z. Sungur. She has received complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and EMDR training. Expert Psychologist Gülçin ŞENYUVA currently has 200 hours of “Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy in Children and Adolescents” given by Maria Ceu Salvador and she continues her 500-hour "Family and Couple Therapy" training given by Prof. Murat Dokur.
She is a board member of the Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies Association (CBTA). She is on the organizing committee of the CBTA congresses and is the general secretary. She took part in many disaster and crisis situations voluntarily by the Trauma Commission of the Turkish Psychological Association. She is a member of the International Association forCognitivePsychotherapy (IACP).
