Özay stated that “When we look at the 2209 A and B student projects, comparing the numbers of 2023 and 2024, we see an increase in our applications. In 2023, there were 99 applications, and as of now, we have 128 applications. In 2023, we had an acceptance rate of 68%, which is approximately a 70% success rate. Looking at the projects of our faculty members, the total number of applications in 2023 was 110. Of these, 11 were completed as projects within the same year. Additionally, we have 22 ongoing projects. When we look at our success rate, we see a 20% success rate. Considering Türkiye as a whole, this is quite a good achievement.”

After the opening speech, the project presentations began.

Prof. Ahmet Konrot: "We use different therapy techniques in voice disorders."

First, Prof. Ahmet Konrot, the Head of the Department of Speech and Language Therapy at the Faculty of Health Sciences of Üsküdar University, presented the project titled “Investigation of the Effects of Different Strategies Used in the Determination of Vocal Endurance and Different Methods Used in Voice Therapy with Non-invasive and Biochemical Methods - A New Approach (TÜSEB-A)”.

Prof. Ahmet Konrot stated that “In this second launch meeting, we will talk about a part of the doctoral thesis that we applied for TÜSEB. I was the principal investigator of this project. In voice disorders, we use different therapy techniques. One of them is absolute voice rest. The other one is a semi-closed voice therapy technique called the blowing water technique, where the vocal cords vibrate, but since the vibration is smooth and oscillated properly, it is said to have a therapeutic effect. Therefore, we also tried to examine whether this semi-closed voice technique is effective compared to absolute voice rest.”

Prof. Barış Erdoğan: "We tried to understand the effect of sociology education on our students."

Prof. Barış Erdoğan, Head of the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of Üsküdar University, presented the project titled “The Effect of Sociology Education on University Students (ÜÜ BAP)”.

Prof. Barış Erdoğan stated that “The main purpose of today’s meeting is to share our projects and inspire each other. We tried to understand the effect of sociology education on our students. We believe that this study should not remain here. That is, it needs to collaborate with other universities through TÜBİTAK. At the beginning of this semester, I had our students who took the 'Introduction to Sociology' course do a pre-test. In the spring semester, we want to see how the courses have been effective, how students have transformed. As a result of this study, two articles have also been written..."
