Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences Academic General Assembly Meeting was held

Üsküdar University 2024-2025 Academic Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences Academic General Assembly Meetings were held. At the meeting held with the participation of academic staff, academic studies and what needs to be done to increase these studies were discussed.

The Academic Board Meeting was held at the Faculty of Health Sciences İbni Sina Auditorium.

President of Üsküdar University Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, Vice Rector Prof. Hikmet Koçak, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Haydar Sur, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Arif Aktuğ Ertekin, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry Assoc. Prof. Barış Karabulut, academicians and students attended the meeting.

Prof. Nevzat Tarhan: "If there is a university, there should be a project"

President of Üsküdar University Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, who made recommendations for the education given at the university to be better, reminded that healthy relationships should be established with students. Tarhan stated that "When students like the teacher, they show more interest in the lesson. In order for students to love the lesson, the teacher must love the student. If healthy relationships can be established with students, we can raise better quality students. We have come a long way in R&D. We were able to get all the labels among 500 universities and enter the ranking. If there is a university, there should be a project, it should not be an institution that only provides education."

Prof. Hikmet Koçak: "Üsküdar University is a university that attaches importance to innovation in every field"

Vice Rector Prof. Hikmet Koçak drew attention to the importance given to innovation. Koçak stated that "Üsküdar University is a university that is open to development and attaches importance to innovation in every field. People who come to visit our university like it very much. We are trying to provide the best education to our students with our academic staff, classrooms, laboratories and research."

Prof. Haydar Sur: "We take care to keep the quality of education at the highest level"

Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Haydar Sur spoke at the Academic Board meeting. Sur stated that "We take care to keep the quality of education at the highest level. Our preferability is strengthened with the strong resumes of our professors. The number of our international students is increasing. We have entered the period of contributing to our university on an international scale. We are a well-known university in many countries. In our Erasmus mobility, 6 students came from Italy last year. They successfully completed their training and returned to their countries."

Prof. Arif Aktuğ Ertekin: "We have a young, dynamic and open-minded staff in our faculty"

Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences Dean Prof. Arif Aktuğ Ertekin pointed out that international application and acceptance rates have increased at the board meeting. Ertekin stated that "We have a young, dynamic and open-minded staff in our faculty. We have collaborations with other universities and health institutions. We have high national and international application and acceptance rates within the faculty. Our major and minor opportunities are good, we offer our students options and support in this regard. It is a situation that will be considered to evaluate the existing number of laboratories within our faculty according to the needs and to be considered again according to the current understanding."

Assoc. Prof. Barış Karabulut: "Our dental hospital is our biggest advantage..."

Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry Assoc. Prof. Barış Karabulut talked about the development and advantages of the faculty. Karabulut stated that "The Faculty of Dentistry is the newest faculty of our university. We have an advanced dental hospital, which is our biggest advantage. The fact that our location is in a central location makes it easier for our students to reach. The success of our students in TUS will also increase the success of our university in the future. Our university has become the center of attention for our international students."
