With the support of Üsküdar University Health, Culture and Sports (HCS) Department, Üsküdar University Kudüs Club organized the event "Palestine Nakba: A Story of Struggle and Resistance from Displacement to the Flood". The event, which attracted great attention, was attended by valuable journalists and researchers. At the event, where the causes and consequences of the events in Palestine were discussed, Üsküdar University Manifesto for Universal Human Values and Rights was read. At the event, which was also attended by Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, Tarhan pointed out that there is a Muslim population of 2 billion in the world that cannot protect 2 million Muslims. He emphasized that the "Manifesto of Universal Human Values and Rights", which was prepared jointly by Üsküdar University and Kazakhstan L.N. Gumilev Eurasia University and aimed to be taken to the United Nations Security Council with 25 thousand signatures, will be the biggest global support to Gaza. In his speech, Tarhan said that there would be no military and political success without mental transformation.

While there was intense participation of international students in the event held at Üsküdar University Central Campus Nermin Tarhan Conference Hall, President Prof. Nevzat Tarhan also participated in the event.

Within the scope of the full-day program, a charity sale was organized for the Palestinian people, and a documentary on Palestine from the Balfour Declaration to the Al-Aqsa Mosque Flood was shown.

Prof. Nevzat Tarhan: "There is a Muslim population of 2 billion who cannot protect 2 million Muslims..."

In his speech, Prof. Nevzat Tarhan pointed out that most of the politicians who govern the Islamic state only think about today's politics and balance and stated that "The geography of Palestine is not a geography that can be easily forgotten for us. Palestine has always been on our agenda. Of course, Gaza is also a part of it. When we consider the last periods of the Ottoman Empire, when they were in great debt and in great need, they came to Sultan Abdulhamid saying, 'We will erase all your debts, give you the right to settle in Palestine.' They are trying to do the politics that America does now, sneakily trying to do it this way. They were doing this about a hundred and twenty, a hundred and thirty years ago. It says that all your debts will be erased, so it is a great opportunity. In other words, in such a situation, Sultan Abdulhamid's answer is very significant. He says, 'If I do such a thing, how will I respond tomorrow when I go before God?' In other words, it shows how he acted for divine pleasure and how he acted responsibly towards God. In other words, it shows both the Ottomans and the ideology that made them Ottoman. That is not what the world, the politicians who run the Islamic state think like that. Most of them think only about today's politics. They only think about their current balance, their power. Unfortunately, the vast majority of them are like this. And because they think so, we are being tossed around right now. In other words, there is a Muslim population of two billion people in the world who cannot protect two million people. We can denigrate Israel and denigrate America: however, there is a saying in Anatolia that says, ‘If you stick the needle in someone when you are talking about a problematic issue, stick the packing needle to yourself.’ Packing needle is a two-inch needle used in sewing quilts. It is such a needle. That’s why it is said stick the need to yourself first. That is why we, as the Islamic world, should say this."

"People in the West are rediscovering Islam..."

Pointing out that the world has entered a game-changing period, Tarhan stated that "At the moment, Palestine and Gaza are doing more than their part. Even in wars, there are raiders, they are on the front line of the war. They always die, they become martyrs. Right now, the Muslims in Gaza are like the mujahid (warrior) on the front line. They are like the first Muslims of that period who lived the prophetic morality of the century. They are like these first forty Muslims. The period of Mecca in the spread of the first Islam is thirteen years and the period of Medina is ten years. These thirteen years are the most difficult period in the period. They emigrated but still did not do anything against Islamic law. Ömer (peace be upon him) said to them, 'Let us defend ourselves.' Still, they did not fight against injustice, that is, with guns, because there is a religion that needs to be built on hearts. The Prophet (peace be upon him) made such a choice, but during the Meccan period, defensive wars began about it. Gaza is now in such a situation. They did not commit any injustice that took them prisoner. They do not. They are not cruel. However, they may act out of a sense of revenge. Therefore, they do not do that in such a situation. This actually surprised the whole world, and it was a game changer. In such a situation, it was a serious game-changer, and on top of that, the persecution of the universities in America, here and there, which we see in the images right now, became very obvious. The fact that it was obvious caused a perception that the sun rises in the west. In other words, the world has entered a game-changing period as Muslims in the east cannot practice Islam and people in the west are discovering Islam again. We can say that this situation is a breaking point. For this reason, we need to think carefully about the plan of destiny instead of saying such hateful, vengeful or cursed words."

Tarhan: "We are trying to fight back with guns"

Mentioning that the most beautiful weapon is the weapon of ideas, Prof. Nevzat Tarhan underlined that people should wage jihad with their own laziness. Tarhan stated that "We are not able to correctly diagnose the disease in the Islamic world. In other words, we are trying to respond to the gun with a gun. However, when we look at the event from the perspective of fate, we do not need guns here. We have the truth like the Qur'an. There is truth like the Islamic world. The most beautiful weapon is the weapon of ideas. In other words, when the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) was returning from the battle of Badr, he said, ‘The small jihad is over, the great jihad begins.’ When they asked, 'O Allah's Messenger, what is the great jihad?' he said, 'The great jihad is the jihad with the soul.' We need jihad against the laziness within ourselves right now. We need to fight fears. We need jihad with the world. If we correct them, we will correct our behavior. Then we can catch the excitement of the first Mecca period, the enthusiasm and desire of that period. That is why it is so important to be able to capture this excitement."

Tarhan added that there can be no military and political success without mental transformation.

The Medina contract is actually a contract of democracy...

Expressing that there is a global policy that suspends the declaration of human rights, Tarhan stated that "The Medina Convention is the world's first human rights convention. I devoted a chapter on this in my social psychology book. From there, anyone who is curious can read it. In other words, those who say human rights should actually read the Medina Convention. It is the Medina contract about how the Christians, Jews, other Pagans and Muslims of that period will live in brotherhood in the bazaar of Medina. This is the first in the world. A cohabitation agreement respecting their rights. The Medina contract is actually a contract of democracy. At the moment, the declaration of human rights has been suspended. If I had the human rights specification, I would burn it, now it is something to burn. It does not make sense, and it is not applied right now. The United Nations does not apply it. That is why we said against this that there is a global policy that suspends the declaration of human rights. We have the right to say that you are doing wrong against this. We have the right to put an end to cruelty. Whatever the cost, we must take it.”

"If the manifesto goes to the UN, it will be the biggest global support for Gaza"

Stating that Üsküdar University and Kazakhstan L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University prepared a joint 'Manifesto on Universal Human Values and Rights' and opened it for signature, Tarhan said that the manifesto, which draws attention to the events in the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa and finally in Gaza, will be submitted to the UN General Assembly and the Security Council at the end of this year with a target of 25 thousand signatures. Tarhan, in the manifesto consisting of 10 items; ‘Based on the events experienced as two universities, we predicted that universal concepts and ideas should be reviewed. As L.N. Guliyev National Eurasia University and Üsküdar University, we thought that it was a sin that the university community, which is the environment where human rights and freedoms are experienced and discussed in the highest way, remained silent in such a situation. We wanted to make our voices heard with an institutional consensus rather than an individual reaction and express our thoughts with a manifesto."

Talking about the published manifesto, Tarhan said that "Four weeks ago, we went to Astana, to Kazakhstan. In Kazakhstan, the book "Psychology of Values" has been translated into Russian. There was a ceremony. Together with the University of Astana, I spoke about the events in Gaza. I said, 'We wrote the book of values, we made a contract, but now this double standard is not applied in Gaza.' We said, 'We have to do something about it. We need to start a values movement. Human values, human rights, let's publish a manifesto for this.' Officials from the University of Astana agreed. They said, 'That is a great idea.' In fact, officials at the university are asking the Astana Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a way that we did not expect. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Astana likes our manifesto very much. They made more additions, made it more beautiful and said, 'If this manifesto reaches 25,000 signatures, we will send this manifesto to the United Nations Security Council.' If this manifesto goes to the United Nations Security Council, it would be the largest global support for Gaza. This is a great trigger for the global conscience.”

"Manifesto for Universal Human Values and Rights" was read

Üsküdar University Universal Human Values and Rights Manifesto was read to the participants by HCS Manager Sadık Paksoy and HCS Specialist Meliha Merve Günaltay.

Later, Journalist and Researcher Dr. Mohammed Abu Taqiya asked, "Have the Palestinians sold their land? 48 Who are the Palestinians? 48 Who are the Arabs?' Dr. Abd al-Rahman Al-Farra, 'Did the war start on October 7?',

Prof. Frank Romano: 'How does the Zionist lobby control the world?'

Journalist and Researcher Isra Almudallal delivered a speech titled "The suffering of journalists in Gaza and their role in reporting the truth".

Dr. Muhammet Abu Taqiya: "Steps that seemed sweet from the outside became a continuation of the persecution"

Journalist and Researcher Dr. Mohammed Abu Taqiya stated that Palestinians are treated as second citizens in their own land and stated that "The resistance started with the raid, with the production of engineers. Palestinians are now second citizens in their own land. They do not allow anyone to leave their neighborhood. There is a military blockade. People had no rights other than to eat and drink. They had no rights other than to speak, eat and drink water. This was the case until the 1960s. It was expected to be displaced, and this was ended in 1967 with Jerusalem. The steps, which seemed sweet from the outside, became a continuation of the persecution. People looking from the outside were now seeing Israeli citizens. Unfortunately, this was not the case.”

Dr. Abdurrahman Al-Farra: "This is not a war, but this is a massacre!"

Underlining that the Zionists target Palestine to protect their own interests, Dr. Abdurrahman Al-Farra said that "This is not a war, this is a massacre, this is a genocide. These sufferings caused a great resistance, a great faith. It gave rise to the idea of freedom. Accustomed to suffering, people tried to be in a state of resistance over the years. Even though they were children, they realized this. We have neither a country nor a land left. When we were left on the path of desperation, we started to raise the resistance again. It is true that we are watching a bitter war, but we also know that it is a historical struggle. People made an effort, even if it was western.”

Gifts were presented to journalists and speakers who helped and supported the people in Gaza.

Documentary screening was held

After the presentations, the documentary titled "Doctors and journalists in Gaza" and "About Gaza" was screened.

Later, a quiz about Jerusalem and Palestine was held. After the competition, a gift was presented to the winner.

Within the scope of the event, a bazaar was organized for the Palestinian people and an exhibition was held.

After the group photo shoot, the event ended.
