'Hand in Hand for Hatay' program was organized for children and families in Hatay

The volunteer youth of the Haydi Tut Elimi (Hold My Hand) Association, which was chaired by President of Üsküdar University Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, went to Hatay, which was affected by the February 6 earthquakes in its 1st year, and created a smile on the faces of children during Hatay's difficult post-earthquake process.

A beacon of hope for children and families living in Hatay affected by the February 6 earthquakes, the Haydi Tut Elimi Association once again demonstrated the power of social solidarity. The volunteer youth of the association offered much more than financial support and put a smile on the faces of the children during the difficult post-earthquake period of Hatay.

President of Üsküdar University and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Haydi Tut Elimi Association Prof. Nevzat Tarhan expressed that "Silent kindness is the highest quality and highest authority of kindness."

Stating that the power of social solidarity has always been one of the most important values of humanity, Tarhan noted that one of the most concrete examples of these values is the aid activities carried out by the Haydi Tut Elimi Association in cooperation with Üsküdar University for children and families in Hatay.

"Economic and social problems experienced after the earthquake made life difficult for many families"

Stating that these studies not only provide financial support, but also represent an important step for a future full of hope and love, Tarhan continued his remarks as follows:

"Hatay is a city that draws attention with its geographical location and cultural richness. However, the economic and social problems experienced after the earthquake, which was called the disaster of the century, made life difficult for many families. At this point, the volunteer ambassadors of the Haydi Tut Elimi Association stepped in and took action to support families and children in need.

"The motivational support offered by the ambassadors touched the hearts of everyone living in Hatay"

With the support of food, clothing and cash cards Haydi Tut Elimi Association has become a beacon of hope for the daily lives of children and families living in Hatay, who are in need. However, the moral support and sense of humanity offered by the ambassadors consisting of majority of young people touched the hearts of everyone living in Hatay beyond these aids."

Noting that charity activities not only help those in need, but also reinforce the feelings of unity and solidarity in the society, Prof. Tarhan stated that "The love and support shown enabled everyone living in Hatay to hug each other more tightly and look to the future with hope."

Asst. Prof. Nebiye Yaşar: "We embraced each other in Hatay, we became strong together"

Üsküdar University Young Minds Academy Director Asst. Prof. Nebiye Yaşar stated that volunteer young people in Hatay are working with love and said that "We hugged each other in Hatay, and we became strong together."

Not a single person said I was tired...

Moreover, Secretary General of the Haydi Tut Elimi Association A. Banu Güngenci stated that the volunteer young people came together and ran to Hatay without thinking or hesitating for a moment and said that "They worked hard and succeeded in the difficulty. Not a single person said, 'I am tired.' They asked, 'What more can I do?'. When my country has such amazing young people, we will always survive."

Ayşegül Şekli: "We have become a drop of joy in the little hearts with the energy and talents of the young people"

Member of the Board of Directors of the Association Ayşegül Şekli said that they wanted to bring small hopes and happiness to the earthquake zone, where the pain, losses and troubles were very great, and Şekli expressed that"There was concern about the support we would give when we set out, but the tiny steps grew like an avalanche. We have seen that unity, cooperation, positive solidarity overcome all problems. When the importance of team spirit was combined with the energy and talents of the young people, we became a drop of joy in the little hearts."

Member of the Board of Directors of the Association Serpil Tarhan expressed that "We were honored to be with you at a wonderful event, our precious young people, who carry love with all their cells and are magnificent in touching people. Thank you very much for adding value to our community and for being with us with all your strength, regardless of difficult conditions."

Young volunteers shared their feelings

One of the young volunteers Elif Zehra Erdem said that "May God accept your good deeds, I hope to meet you in many of our events together."

Kamile Güneş said, that "The February 6 earthquake, which is the disaster of the century, is the common wound of all of us, we have been trying to heal our wounds together from the first moment of the earthquake, and we should not forget that we must continue this until we stand up."

Yunus Altanhan: "I hope we will be together in very good trainings, events and projects from now on"

Dicle Kocakaplan said that "It was a very valuable event for all of us. Even if we cannot afford to rebuild the destroyed buildings there, I believe that we have coordinated together and rebuilt the hopes, joys, happy togetherness of the children there and many more. Hamoud Haba said that “It is a really great experience for me, and I hope to be a part of future events and projects."

Zühre Nur Aktaş said that "It has been my dream since I was little to be with children in their difficult days. In this event, it was an opportunity to meet children who were together in many difficult conditions. Their happiness has given me life too..."

Gizem Sarıal said that "I would like to thank everyone who participated in this project, especially my professors who managed the project, and everyone who put their heart, effort and love in this project."

Children from Hatay had fun at the Children's Festival

Informing on their work in the region, Haydi Tut Elimi Association Secretary General A. Banu Güngenci expressed that "Haydi Tut Elimi Association volunteers went to Hatay Antakya Suvatlı and Saçaklı Villages and Antakya Akçaova and distributed coats, trousers and socks to children there. A children's festival was also held. (Face painting, hand painting, entertaining activities with clowns, jumping rope, songs, dances, science workshop, astronomy workshop, entertainment with snow spray and confetti.) Shopping cards were distributed as food distribution. Moreover, packages for women, hygiene packages, clothes and shoes for women, men and children were distributed. In all three schools visited during the event, teachers were presented with Prof. Nevzat Tarhan's books 'Conscious Youth' and ' Son Sığınak Aile’ (The Last Refuge Family).
