11th Bioengineering Days led by Üsküdar University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Faculty, Department of Bioengineering was held, which is organized traditionally. President of Üsküdar University Prof. Nevzat Tarhan stated that the biological systems are waiting to be discovered in the program where important names in the field participated as speakers.

Üsküdar University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Department of Bioengineering and Üsküdar University Bioengineering Club students held the 11th Traditional Bioengineering Days this year. The event, which was held at the Nermin Tarhan Conference Hall and lasted for a full day, was attended by important figures in the field.

Prof. Nevzat Tarhan: “The biological systems are waiting to be discover”

President of Üsküdar University Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, who made the opening speech of the program, said that he was very happy that the bioengineering days, which have been successfully carried out for 11 years, have been continued since the establishment of the university. Stating that the world seems to progress only with the merging of health sciences, biological sciences and engineering sciences, Tarhan said that both the biological systems in human beings and the biological systems in nature are waiting to be discovered.

Prof. Nevzat Tarhan: "Be sure to be in a project!"

Tarhan mentioned that as Üsküdar University, they organized a computational neuroscience congress for the first time in Türkiye and said that "Within computational biological systems, the field of computational neuroscience is an important field. In April, we held the first computational neuroscience congress in Türkiye this year. This is one of the most important areas of biotechnology besides bioengineering and biochemistry.". Highlighting that students studying in this field should be constantly open to new experiences, Tarhan recommended that they should definitely be in a project during their student years.

Prof. Osman Çerezci: "The importance of bioengineering will increase even more"

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Prof. Osman Çerezci emphasized that the 11th Bioengineering Days are getting older and progressing in a more exciting, more comprehensive and more scientific system every time. Prof. Çerezci pointed out that Bioengineering will gain even more importance in the coming years. Çerezci said that "The fact that the bioengineering branch is directly related to life is a fact that the bioengineering branch will gain much more importance in the next years and will be accepted by everyone. Today, societies especially in the countries of Europe and America are conducting research on Mars and other planets. Bioengineering is also still actually an unknown planetary feature of the human body. In this respect, it is obvious how important bioengineering will be to perform the unknowns, unknown points, points of discovery and the point of serving life in biological systems. For this reason, I believe that bioengineering days will have great benefit to our students with the productive topics they cover in terms of scientific research.".

After the opening speeches, important names in the field met with the students.

Those who participated in the program with their presentation are as follows: Prof. Özge Can from Acıbadem University with the presentation titled 'Future Molecules: Next Generation Diognostic and Treatment', Prof. Sevil Yücel from Yıldız Technical University with the presentation titled 'Different Applications of Bioactive Glasses in Bioengineering', Prof. Yasemin Yüksel Durmaz from Medipol University with the presentation titled 'Therapeutic Nanoparticles', Asst. Prof. Hakan Darıcı from Istinye University with the presentation titled '3D Bioprinting', Nanomed Diagnostic Founder Emine Saraç with the presentation titled 'Why Entrepreneurship?', Prof. lif Damla Arısan from Gebze Technical University with the presentation titled 'Bioentrepreneurship' and Assoc. Prof. Figen Çalışkan from Eskişehir Osmangazi University with the presentation titled 'Scorpion Venom and Their Therapeutic Effects'.

The event ended with the presentation of certificates of appreciation and a group photo shoot.
