Rector Prof. Nazife Güngör's connections in Azerbaijan are increasing

Üsküdar University strengthens its academic relations with Azerbaijan. Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Nazife Güngör and the accompanying delegation visited Azerbaijan. Güngör participated in the international symposium organized by Western Caspien University as part of the COP 29 Summit. In the symposium where mountaineering and mountain culture were discussed in the context of the ecological crisis, Güngör discussed the relationship between ecological crisis and communication. Güngör drew attention to the importance of the peaceful and balanced relationship between humans and nature in preventing the ecological crisis.

Prof. Bahar Muratoğlu Pehlivan made some contacts with participation in scientific programs.

Participation in the international symposium

Prof. Nazife Güngör and the accompanying delegation attended the international symposium organized by Western Caspien University within the scope of the COP 29 Summit in Baku. At the symposium where mountaineering and mountain culture were discussed in the context of the ecological crisis, Prof. Güngör presented a paper on the relationship between ecological crisis and communication. Güngör emphasized the importance of the peaceful and balanced relationship between humans and nature in preventing the ecological crisis.

Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication New Media and Communication Department Head Assoc. Prof. Gül Esra Atalay and Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication New Media and Communication (English) Department Head Assoc. Prof. Bahar Muratoğlu Pehlivan also contributed to the symposium with their papers. Assoc. Prof. Atalay touched on the subject of 'Greenwash' and Assoc. Prof. Pehlivanoğlu touched on the importance of mountain culture.

Güngör met with Member of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan Javanshir Feyziyev

Moreover, Prof. Nazife Güngör met with Cavanşir Feyziyev, Member of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, who is known for his work on education and cultural development. During the meeting, which was held at the invitation of Feyziyev, information was given about Üsküdar University.

Cooperation with Baku State University was discussed

Rector Prof. Güngör and the accompanying delegation also held a meeting with the Rector of Baku State University Prof. Elchin Babayev within the scope of the visit. At the meeting held in the Senate Hall of Baku State University, the 12th Congress, which will be held in Baku in May 2025 in cooperation with both universities, will be held. The preparatory work for the International Communication Days was reviewed.

As part of the visit, he also participated in the celebration of the Victory Day of Azerbaijan organized by Baku State University. At the celebration ceremony, Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Nazife Güngör emphasized the importance of brotherhood between both countries in her speech. Güngör mentioned that if the unity of the Azerbaijani people continues, it can be among the strongest economies of the world in the very near future. Güngör also stated that as Üsküdar University, Azerbaijan has always been with them in this development and development process.
