The Second “Vision Meeting” Focused on Digitalization Has Been Realized!

Üsküdar University, which cares about digitization in education, held the second of its “Digitalization Oriented” vision meetings. Üsküdar University, which carried out a first among higher education institutions, discussed the digital transformation of universities on a world scale and its position in this field in all aspects.

The second of the vision meetings, which were realized to walk more confidently to the future, was held outdoors in the garden of the South Campus of Üsküdar University, due to the pandemic. The meeting was attended by Uskudar University Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Furkan Tarhan, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zelka, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Muhsin Konuk, Prof. Dr. Sevil Atasoy, Rector Advisors Prof. Dr. Deniz Ülke Arıboğan, Prof. Dr. Tayfun Uzbay, Prof. Dr. Sırrı Akbaba, as well as Secretary General Selçuk Uysaler, members of the Senate and senior executives.

This year, the meeting was moderated by Tolga Yucel, founder and chairman of Megawatt Agency Services Inc., who also advises brands within Yucel Communications and Management Consultancy.




Prof. Dr. Deniz Ülke Arıbogan: "The world of the future is very clear"
Prof. Dr. Deniz Ülke Arıboğan stating, that since the begin of the pandemic crisis, as a university a very good intervention has been made at the Uskudar University: "We did what other universities couldn't do. What we're doing is actually giving a very good reaction to the crisis. There is no such a thing, as we have come to the ninth heaven in online education. Because online education is a huge transaction, with a very large budget, sold for a very long time, marketed at a huge cost worldwide. And now, major universities and big technology companies in the world, have quickly cooperated after the pandemic.

There are joint university technology platforms establishing. Because the world of the future is very clear. Digitalization will surely be anywhere in this business. But we have to decide: “We need to have short, medium and long term plans. Here is how we will use first hand digitalization in the call of the meeting we will hold today.”



Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: “It is necessary to determine the importance, priority and target”
Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan stated, that digital transformation is very important. Tarhan said; “There is a rapid change in the world. If we take the correct position for this change, it will advance us. If we take the wrong position, we will be interrupted. Here we need to have a serious competitive advantage. For this, we need to form a center team. It makes no sense to talk about whether digital transformation is necessary or not right now. Right now it's pointless to talk about whether digital conversion is necessary or not. Because digital transformation is inevitable right now. Then we'll talk about how we can make it fit for us. In the meantime, what I care about is, we need to build our own two internal models. What suits us best in doing so, how can we connect? The second, we need to build our strategy. We need to determine importance, priority and target. For these, we need to make evaluations of everyone here in various angles and draw the road map accordingly.”



Üsküdar was spoken in the digital field

In the meeting, the institutional vision, strategies and goals of Üsküdar University were discussed during the digitalization process. Afterwards, strategy, goal and business plan integration and general participation study were evaluated with all the participants.
