With the protocol signed between Üsküdar University Faculty of Dentistry and International Balkan University Faculty of Dentistry, one of the leading universities in Macedonia, Exchange programs will be held for undergraduate and graduate students.
A Cooperation Protocol was signed between Üsküdar University Faculty of Dentistry, which continues its activities with the mission of expanding its international cooperation network, and the International Balkan University Faculty of Dentistry in Skopje, one of the leading universities in Macedonia.
Üsküdar University Faculty of Dentistry Dean Prof. Ergün Yücel commented on the importance of the protocol and expressed that "As Üsküdar University Faculty of Dentistry, our aim is to strengthen our international cooperation and offer more opportunities to our students. We have signed protocols with many international faculties so far and we will gradually expand this network."
The way was paved for the exchange of academic and administrative staff between the two universities
International Balkan University was established in 2006 by the Council of Higher Education in Skopje, the capital of the Republic of North Macedonia, with the decision of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye. Within the framework of ERASMUS cooperation, the way was paved for activities such as the exchange of academic and administrative staff, the exchange of undergraduate and graduate students, the execution of joint research projects, lecturing, organizing symposiums and increasing academic cooperation between the two universities. Within the scope of the protocol, a symposium on 'Modern Dentistry' was held at the International Balkan University on November 17, 2024, with the approval of the Chamber of Dentists of North Macedonia. The event was attended by international participants from different countries of Europe.
Üsküdar University Department of Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery Asst. Prof. H. Fulya Üçem also attended the symposium and made a presentation titled "Temporomandibular Joint Disorders and Modern Conservative Treatment Methods".
It is aimed to encourage cultural interaction
The opening speech of the symposium was made by Dr. Maryan Denkovski, President of the Chamber of Dentists of North Macedonia, and Prof. Enis Redzep, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry of International Balkan University.
Prof. Enis Redzep stated that "With this agreement, we aim to increase the academic capacities of both universities, develop joint projects and encourage cultural interaction. I hope that this cooperation, which will open new horizons for our students and academic staff, will be beneficial for both institutions."
After the symposium, a group photo was taken, and a plaque presentation was held.
