The "1 Idea 1 World" competition was hosted by the Turkish Inventors and Inventor Candidates Association (TÜMMİAD). In the competition, the innovative initiative of Üsküdar University students "META-TIP" project was awarded with a Gold Certificate. The project aims to simulate theoretical education in the field of medicine and practical training in surgery in the closest way to reality by using virtual reality (VR) technologies. Within the scope of the competition, the projects of inventors and entrepreneurs from all over the world and Türkiye have the opportunity to be exhibited on an international platform.

The team of the "META-TIP" project consists of Üsküdar University Project Coordinator and Founding Partner, Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine 5th year student Mustafa Şanverdi, Software Developer and Co-Founder, Computer Engineering 2nd year student Emre Kaan Şanverdi, Production Planning Officer, Industrial Engineering 2nd year student Sena Özbülbül, International Relations Officer, 4th year student of Faculty of Medicine Asma İbrahim, International Relations Officer, Faculty of Medicine 4th year student Lina Hammami and Istanbul Technical University Electronics and Communication Engineering 2nd year student.

The project received a gold Certificate award...

In the 1 Idea 1 World competition, the innovative initiative of Üsküdar University students "META-TIP" project was awarded with a Gold Certificate. The META-MEDICINE project was implemented in 2022 by Mustafa Şanverdi, a 5th year student at Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine, and Emre Kaan Şanverdi, a 2nd year student of Computer Engineering. The project aims to simulate theoretical education in the field of medicine and practical training in surgery in the closest way to reality by using virtual reality (VR) technologies.

The project belongs to scientists in Türkiye and aims to create a global virtual environment and form the core of the medical science community. META-TIP plans to create not only virtual classrooms, but also an important anatomy database and offer digital products to the scientific community. The project will present organs and organ systems printed with 3D printers, along with concrete applications for digital and real environments. With these features, "META-TIP" is the first original initiative to support medical education with digital and real anatomy products.

A project for both researchers and students

With the META-TIP project, it aims to offer an innovative solution to problems such as cadaver insufficiency and enable students to experience one-on-one anatomy lessons with digitized organs and organ systems. By using VR technology to scan and digitize real organs in 3D, it is aimed to create a better educational environment for health sciences students and researchers.

Among its goals is to grow internationally

At the same time, the META-TIP project aims to establish a TÜBİTAK-supported venture company and start studies in private medical faculties and hospitals in Istanbul.

Within the scope of the project, letters of intent were received with some health institutions. After the completion of the equipment and production process of the products, it will be operational in hospitals. Moreover, it aims to start operating in universities where anatomy and cadaver courses are given in all faculties of health sciences and to grow internationally.

Work is still ongoing...

The "META-TIP" project, which was a finalist in the Teknofest Educational Technologies category in 2023, was then accepted to Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Core Incubation Center. ITU CORE was selected as the 2nd best incubation center in Europe and the 3rd best incubation center in the world. The project has moved to the 2nd stage in the TÜBİTAK 1812 BIGG program and still continues its R&D studies at Üsküdar University BrainPark Incubation Center.
