The annual meeting of SFRR-E (Society for Free Radical Research International) was held this year with the theme "From Molecules to Tissues: Redox Biology in Action". The meeting, which included international participants, presented many innovative applications to the participants with its scientific richness. Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Biochemistry Member and METIFLAM Founder Prof. Nesrin Kartal Özer attended the meeting. Özer chaired the Women in Science (WIS) Forum.

SFRR-E (Society for Free Radical Research International) Annual Meeting was held on June 5-7 at the Mövenpick Hotel in Kurtköy, İstanbul, with the theme of "From Molecules to Tissues: Redox Biology in Action".

Women in Science Forum was moderated by Prof. Nesrin Kartal Özer

Within the scope of the meeting, the WIS forum was moderated by Prof. Nesrin Kartal Özer, Member of the Department of Medical Biochemistry at Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine and Founder of METIFLAM. It enabled 4 valuable women scientists from different countries to share their opinions and suggestions by asking different and meaningful questions.

The Women in Science (WIS) Forum, a subcommittee of the congress, is a dynamic structure that aims to support and develop women's careers, scientific achievements and leadership roles in the field of redox biology and medicine.

The aim of the Women in Science (WIS) Forum is as follows:

- To expand the participation, visibility and leadership roles of women scientists in all community activities,

- To invite women scientists to present their research at various conferences,

-To provide training workshops on basic career skills,

- To promote leadership development and opportunities for young scientists,

- To promote openness, the use of collaborative models that are comprehensive and maximize mutual success.
