The 4th Molecular Biology and Genetics Days Congress, which was held at Nermin Tarhan Conference Hall under the leadership of Üsküdar University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences and the Department of Health, Culture and Sports, has been completed. In the two-day congress, the leading names in the sector gathered to share their experiences, ideas and future visions, as they do every year. The interest of the students in the congress was intense.

The congress, which was held at Üsküdar University Nermin Tarhan Conference Hall, received great attention.

After the ceremony, which started with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, Üsküdar University Vice Rector Prof. Muhsin Konuk made the opening speech.

Prof. Muhsin Konuk: "Do not be satisfied with the lessons taught in the curriculum and the information given"

Emphasizing that the congress resulted in months of work and congratulating the students who contributed to this study, Vice Rector Prof. Muhsin Konuk started his speech as follows: "When I think about my undergraduate student days, I know Türkiye’s conditions at that time. Sometimes I show it to my students as well. I kept as the notes I took down when I was a student. Look where we came from, where we were at, and where you are at. It was in September 1985 when I started my master's degree. Apart from the city where we were to review the literature, there were three cities where biological chemical abstractions came from. These were İstanbul, İzmir and Ankara. Since I was at Selcuk University, I was going to Ankara, which was the nearest. I used to go to Ankara for a literature review on the subject I was going to study. I would stay there for days. I would be in the library before the librarian. There were duplication papers, now there are not many of them, I used to cut them in half in the printing house and write abstracts that were related to my field and would be useful to me by hand because there was no photocopy machine. In those days, we could only find books. Of course, it was not easy to access books under that time’s conditions. As of today, you can access scientific articles beyond books. We bring our students together with our professors and instructors that we know, and we provide them the opportunity to meet, talk to and do business with in various parts of the world, through clubs or through personal networks that have shown themselves in the international arena. Moreover, as in this congress, we invited you to share with you our professors who have shown themselves in Türkiye and gone forward, and what those professors have done in many different directions regarding our field. You can think of this as an effort to improve your knowledge of the profession. Do not be satisfied with the lessons taught in the curriculum and the information given."

On the first day of the congress, which lasted for two days, Gebze Technical University Asst. Prof. Dr. Ümit Barış Kutman, Boğaziçi University faculty member Prof. Arzu Çelik, İstanbul University faculty member Prof. Canan Cacına, Bezmialem Vakıf University faculty member Assoc. Prof. Şeref Gül, İstinye University Asst. Prof. Hakan Darıcı, Turgut Özal University Assoc. Prof. Kadir Demircan, Koç University Asst. Prof. Onur Öztaş participated as a speaker.
