The International Positive Psychology Congress, organized for the 6th time this year by Üsküdar University, will be held on April 19-20, 2024 with the theme of 'Positive Psychology in Interpersonal Relationships'.

In the congress, which is held with the participation of world-renowned scientists, subjects such as 'The Wisdom of Self-Compassion in Therapy', 'Forgiveness in Bilateral Relationships', 'Psychological Resilience in Relationships', 'Building Positive Relationships', 'Building Psychological Resilience Through Hope', 'The Importance of the Concept of Persistence in Relationships' will be discussed. The guest of honor of the congress is Dr. Tayyab Rashid from the University of Melbourne. Dr. Rashid will discuss the topic of 'Trajectories of Positive Relationships'.

The International Positive Psychology Congress, which was held for the 6th time this year by Üsküdar University with the partnership of Üsküdar University, NPİSTANBUL Hospital, NP Etiler & Feneryolu Medical Center, Turkish Psychological Counseling and Guidance Association and Positive Psychology Institute, welcomes experts working in this field. The theme of this year's two-day congress is 'Positive Psychology in Interpersonal Relationships'.

The opening will be made by Prof. Nevzat Tarhan

The congress, which will be held phy-gitally on April 19-20, 2024 at Üsküdar University Central Campus Nermin Tarhan Conference Hall, will be attended and start with opening speeches by President of Üsküdar University Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, who is also the President of the Congress, Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Nazife Güngör, Üsküdar University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Dean Prof. Deniz Ülke Arıboğan and Congress Secretary General Asst. Prof. Fatma Turan.

Bilateral relations will be discussed in the opening panel

In the opening panel moderated by Prof. Sırrı Akbaba from Üsküdar University, Prof. Dr. Azize Nilgün Canel from Marmara University will give a speech on 'The Wisdom of Self-Compassion in Therapy', Prof. Müge Yüksel from Marmara University will give a speech on 'Forgiveness in Bilateral Relations', and Assoc. Prof. Durmuş Ümmet from Marmara University will give a speech on 'Psychological Resilience in Relationships'.

On Saturday, April 20, the guest of honor of the congress, Dr. Tayyab Rashid from the University of Melbourne, will discuss the topic of 'Trajectories of Positive Relationships'. Assoc. Prof. Aliriza Arenliu from the University of Pristina will share 'Ruminations and Depression: Development and Pilot Implementation of Rumination-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Interventions for Ambulatory Public Mental Health Services in Kosovo'.

'Modern Psychotraumatology' panel will be held

In the panel on 'Modern Psychotraumatology', Prof. Erdinç Öztürk from İstanbul University will make a presentation on 'Modern Psychotraumatology and Dyssoanalytical Theory', Dr. Görkem Derin will make a presentation on 'Trauma-Centered Wedding Ring Model Therapy', Dr. Psychologist Barış Erdoğan will give a presentation on 'Developmental Migration', Insturctor Dr. Kerem Çetinkaya will discuss 'Natural and Guide Parenting Style'.

Within the scope of the congress, Prof. Rahime Nükhet Çıkrıkçı from Üsküdar University will give a conference on 'Basic Principles and Standards in the Adaptation of Psychological Tests' and Assoc. Prof. Çiğdem Yavuz Güler will give a conference on ‘Well-being of the Relationship: How do I stand or fall by?’.

In the panel on 'Positive Psychology in Family Relations', Clinical Psychologist Çiğdem Demirsoy from NPİSTANBUL Hospital will make a presentation on 'Positive Psychology and Couple Relationship in the Context of Psychotherapy', Prof. Gül Eryılmaz will make a presentation on 'Positive Relationships in the Family' and Asst. Prof. Aslı Zeynep Başabak Bhais will make a presentation on 'Positive Parenting and Healthy Boundaries in the Family'.
