Instructor İdil Arasan Doğan: "The idea that someone understands me is very valuable..."

Üsküdar University, Graduate School of Social Sciences, İdil Arasan Doğan stated at the concert that Alzheimer's is an important disease both for the world and for our country. Doğan said that "In the near future, almost 55 million people will have Alzheimer's disease. We have started to see it in our families, relatives and acquaintances, and it seems that it will continue. The disease begins very sneakily. When the diagnosis is made, it is now a mid-stage and late diagnosis. With the social responsibility projects thatwe have initiated, we aim to draw attention to the disease with psychological support approaches and to be with the relatives of the patients, who are the real decision-makers during this period. Being able to meet at a common point, the thought of 'Someone understands me' is very valuable. Therefore, it is very important to ensure the well-being of the patient's relative, who is the real decision-maker. You see that certain values and virtues are still alive. The purpose of this concert is to emphasize awareness and to say that we are here in every sense. I have a hope that we can make the idea of 'There is someone who goes through this process with us, understands us and is with us', especially to our patients' relatives."
