President of Üsküdar University, Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan participated in the 35th TUSAP Health Summit, which was held with the agenda on 'National Technology Vision in Health'. At the Summit held in the Bilişim Valisi with the participation of the Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, attention was drawn to 13 different scientific experiments carried out by Alper Gezeravcı on the International Space Station, including Üsküdar University.

The opening speeches of the summit held in the Bilişim Valisi, and TÜSAP Executive Board Chairman Prof. Sabahattin Aydın and TOGG CEO Mehmet Gürcan Karakaş made the speech.

Along with the presentation, the evaluation speech was made by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health Assoc. Prof. Şuayip Birinci.

Üsküdar is among 13 different scientific experiments...

At the summit, attention was drawn to 13 different scientific experiments carried out by Türkiye's first astronaut Alper Gezeravcı on the International Space Station, including the 'Message' science mission carried out by Üsküdar University TRGENMER Director Dr. Cihan Taştan and his team Gamze Gülden, Berranur Sert, Büşra Tekirdağlı, Berranur Sert, Ebru Çam, Özge Demir, Fatmanur Erkek.

Carrying out Türkiye's first space science mission

Emphasizing that Türkiye's first astronaut Alper Gezeravcı carried out Türkiye's first space science research on the International Space Station with groundbreaking research in the field of medicine and engineering, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır said that "As you know, last week we sent our first Turkish astronaut to the International Space Station as part of a science mission. Türkiye's first astronaut, Alper Gezeravcı, is currently carrying out Türkiye's first space science mission on the International Space Station. By evaluating the unique conditions offered by the microgravity environment with the experiments we carry out in space, it carries out groundbreaking research in the fields of medicine and engineering. By analyzing the ability of microalgae to produce oxygen and capture carbon dioxide, we examine their potential to be used in support systems for habitats and living opportunities beyond the world in the future. By examining the behavior of cells that suppress the immune system in cancer and chronic diseases, we open the door to new treatment methods."

The 35th summit, which was also attended by President of Üsküdar University Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, ended with a group photo taken after the evaluations and opinions.
