Üsküdar University Vice Rector Prof. Sevil Atasoy, who is known for her studies in the field of forensic sciences in Türkiye and in the world for the prevention of crime and the apprehension of criminals, met with the students of Private Çamlıca Bilfen Anatolian High School. Atasoy mentioned that students who graduate from forensic sciences will work in private or public criminal laboratories and conduct scientific research in Türkiye, as in all developed countries.

Forensic Sciences is available in only 2 universities in Türkiye

At the meeting, which took place in a very friendly environment, Prof. Sevil Atasoy explained the working areas of Forensic Sciences through examples and stated that Forensic Sciences undergraduate education is available in only 2 universities in Türkiye. She mentioned that students who graduate from the forensic sciences program will work in private or public criminal laboratories conduct scientific research, and develop new methods and equipment. in Türkiye, as in all developed countries.

Forensic scientists play a major role in case investigation

Emphasizing that there is no perfect homicide and that forensic scientists come together with different disciplines and play a major role in case clarification, Atasoy also shared examples of cases and remarkable events that took place abroad and the litigation process took a very long time.

In the program, where she was asked how witnessing hundreds of extraordinary cases affected her everyday life, Atasoy added that this process did not put her in a difficult situation because she professionally approaches the cases.
