Üsküdar University VSHS hosted the "10 November 85th Year Atatürk Commemoration Program" was held. Üsküdar University Head of the Department of Medical Pathology Prof. İbrahim Öztek attended the program as a speaker.

The program, which was organized under the title of "85th Year of November 10 Commemoration of Atatürk Program", was held in Emirnebi 1 conference hall.

The program, which was moderated by Instructor Ayşe Bağlı, was also attended by VSHS Director Prof. Mesut Karahan and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Haydar Sur.

He spent his life running from front to front

Emphasizing that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's short life was spent on the fronts, Prof. İbrahim Öztek said that "The great leader who came to the stage of history by saying, 'Freedom and independence are my character'... He became the will and savior of Turkishness in a dark period when the homeland and nation, honor and dignity were violated. He is a true leader. He has always been a leader for his nation in war and peace, in the reconstruction of the country, in nationhood, in becoming an honorable and independent nation, and in standing firm in the face of the dominant powers. He said, ‘Armies, your first goal is the Mediterranean, Forward!’ and he was in front of his armies. He spent his short life of 57 years running from front to front from Syria to North Africa, from the Balkans to Palestine, from Çanakkale to Eastern Anatolia..."

Being Turkish is my greatest source of pride

Explaining the importance of Turkish culture, Öztek stated that "The hearts of the Turks, filled with love for their country, will always rise like an iron wall against the ambitions of the enemy. We are directly nationalists. We are Turkish nationalists. It is the Turkish community on which our Republic is based. Those who founded the Republic of Türkiye and became a homeland together are Turks. The more the members of this society are filled with Turkish culture, the higher that society will rise. Turkish nationalism, together with harmony with all modern nations, considers it essential to preserve the special character of Turkish society and its independent identity. This nationalism is certainly not tribalism. Nations that do not have their own identity and nationality become prey to other nations. Turkishness has been my greatest source of value and my greatest source of pride." The program ended with the presentation of a plaque and a group photo shoot.
