About the Turkish Biochemical Society:

The Turkish Biochemical Society (TBS) was established in Ankara in 1975 to gather all biochemists (clinical and basic) and molecular biologists under the same umbrella. The association has developed over the years. With more than 2500 members and branches in three major cities such as İstanbul, İzmir and Adana, it has become one of the leading national associations in Türkiye. TBS has had the status of "Public Benefit Association" since 10.05.1978. The association has been a member of FEBS and IUBMB since 1978. TBS later became a member of IFCC (International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, 1997), FESCC (Federation of European Societies of Clinical Chemistry, 1997; now European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, EFLM) and BCLF (Balkan Clinical Laboratory Federation, 1998). The association has been a member of WASPaLM (World Association of Societies of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine) since 2013.

TBS has organized around thirty national and international scientific meetings with more than 500 participants. National congresses are held every 12 months and are open to international speakers and participants, and within the scope of these meetings, Biostatistics, Method Validation, Molecular Biology Techniques, Medical Laboratory Applications, Standardization and Accreditation, Information Technologies, Data Mining, Laboratory Management (Quality Management, Standardization, Accreditation, Evidence-Based Laboratory Medicine), Advanced Laboratory Techniques (Electrophoresis, Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, Flow Cytometry).
