Courses will be given with 3D organs and organ systems in medical education…

Üsküdar University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (English) Asst. Prof. Dr. Cihan Taştan, Director of Üsküdar University Young Brains Academy Director Asst. Prof. Dr. Nebiye Yaşar and the project team META-TIP project have begun an important work. With the study, it is aimed that the real organs will be scanned in 3D, digitized and adapted to VR glasses in order for students and researchers to receive a better education, and that the students will experience anatomy lessons in the classroom environment one-to-one thanks to the 3-dimensional organs and organ systems to be created.

It aims to give the lessons in the most realistic way

The META-TIP project aims to simulate the organs to be used in anatomy education in medical faculties in the metaverse universe and to do this, virtual classroom rooms will be created and anatomy training will be provided with devices with metaverse access (VR glasses, tablets, etc.) which students will have. Since the organs and organ systems to be used in virtual anatomy courses will be obtained from the scanning of real organs and transferred to the 3D environment, it will be ensured that the lessons are taught in the most appropriate way.

There are those who are in the team under the supervision by Asst. Prof. Dr. Nebiye Yaşar and Asst. Prof. Dr. Cihan Taştan as follows: Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine Representative, project team captain Intern Dr. Mustafa Şanverdi and medical students Emre Kaan Şanverdi, Mert Güngör, Mahmut Onat Özten and Doğasav Sümer.

It is aimed to create 3D organs and organ systems

In today's world, there is a problem of resources and equipment on providing a better education in education and scientific research and on giving place to research. In our country, people who receive medical education and work cannot actively learn due to the insufficient number of cadavers (insufficient number of cadavers per student). At the same time, there are negative results such as failure to perform the necessary procedures due to cadaver scarcity and loss of time. In order for students and researchers studying in Health Sciences to receive a better education, it is planned to scan the real organs in 3D, digitize them and make them suitable for VR glasses. Thanks to the 3-dimensional organs and organ systems to be created, it is aimed that the students experience anatomy lessons in the classroom environment one-on-one. In this way, it is aimed to be a software-based project that will lead the world of medicine and science, supporting the formation of the Metaverse branch in the field of health and entertainment (video game industry).

Work continues for the release of the prototype product

In the Teknofest competition, studies to produce a prototype for the META-TIP project continues, which was finalized in the group of educational technologies universities. The project has been accepted to the ITU Seed incubation center, which celebrates its tenth anniversary and is shown by UBI Global in the top 5 among the incubation centers affiliated to universities.

Preparations are being made for the Big Bang event...

The project was entitled to enter an innovation and technology center within the Başakşehir Municipality, where Türkiye's first Living Lab Başakşehir Living Lab having opened its doors to the public in 2013, develops products and services on information technologies and design.

Moreover, the team is currently preparing for the Big Bang event, which is one of the biggest entrepreneurship events in Türkiye.
