Silver medal to students of Uskudar University

Students from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Uskudar University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences represented Uskudar University at RadiChal 2021, where 39 different teams competed to carry out genetic treatment and social awareness projects for three different target diseases. 7therapy team awarded the silver medal for genetic treatment for Epidermolysis Bulloza disease.

Uskudar University students added one more to their success.

At RadiChal 2021, which was attended by 39 teams, students representing Uskudar University with their 7therapy team were awarded a silver medal by developing a genetic treatment method for Epidermolysis Bulloza disease.

7therapy team members are as follows:
Talha Yaşar -  Uskudar University Molecular Biology and Genetics - Bioengineering (English)
İrem Çelik - Uskudar University Molecular Biology and Genetics - Bioengineering (English)
İrem Köhserli -   Uskudar University Molecular Biology and Genetics - Bioengineering (English)
Beyza Nur Akı - Uskudar University Molecular Biology and Genetics - Software Engineering (English)

What is RaDiChal?

A Rare Diseases Genetic Treatment competition organized to make the voices of rare diseases and individuals who need to be heard in society relatively few and who have them heard and to develop treatment strategies for these diseases and which are attended by university students at the international level.

7therapy is a group of 4 friends who come together with a solution-oriented approach and plan an awareness and treatment strategy based on the label #kelebeketkisi (#butterflyeffect) for Epidermolysis Bulloza, popularly known as butterfly disease.

Epidermolysis Bulloza, i.e. butterfly disease has a huge lack of data both in the lower branches of the disease and statistically in our country. Today, many butterfly patients are unaware of their disease.

Students of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Uskudar University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences continue to work hard to close this gap, ensure the flow of data, and create a positive effect.
