The "9th Experimental Animal Use Certificate Training Program" organized by Üsküdar University’s Experimental Research Unit (ÜSKÜDAB) has started.

The training, held at Üsküdar University’s Main Campus, will continue between February 3 and February 13.

Asst. Prof. Burcu Çevreli: "We are offering a certificate with international validity"

Asst. Prof. Burcu Çevreli, the responsible manager of the Üsküdar University Medical Directorate Animal Research Laboratory and Course Coordinator, delivered the opening speech for the training program. Dr. Çevreli stated that “With this animal research training course, we aim to provide the skills to work with mice and rats. This ministry-approved program is organized in compliance with European Union regulations, and we offer a certificate with international validity. Among our trainers are Ministry officials. Our laboratories are inspected twice a year, and the Local Ethics Committee for Animal Research ensures that all studies comply with ethical rules. Throughout the training, you will gain detailed knowledge on animal welfare, research design, and ethical principles through both theoretical lessons and practical training.”

The certificate obtained upon completion of the course, supported by laboratory experience, offers career opportunities on national and international platforms. Participants will work in groups of 5-7 and will receive support from experienced volunteer students. Candidates, who undergo a disciplined and intensive training process, will have the opportunity to gain expertise in the field of laboratory animal research through this program.

The training is reinforced with both theoretical and practical knowledge

The training, which conveys both theoretical and practical knowledge about the use of animals in scientific research, aims to provide significant opportunities for those wishing to advance in this field. Throughout the program, participants will gain a scientific perspective on the use of research animals through lessons taught by expert academicians and will have the opportunity to reinforce their theoretical knowledge through practical training.

A certificate will be awarded upon completion of the training

Upon completing the program, participants will be eligible to receive a certificate, which will allow them to document their competencies in this field. This certificate, which is mandatory for individuals wishing to conduct scientific research with animals, is also a significant step for those who wish to pursue a career in related fields.
