Accreditation and its importance were explained to nursing students
Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Department held an 'Accreditation Process Student Information' meeting. At the meeting, nursing students were informed about the accreditation process.
The meeting held at Üsküdar University NP Health Campus İbni Sina Auditorium was attended by the Head of the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Nurcan Uysal, Asst. Prof. Hatice Demirdağ, Asst. Prof. Elçin Babaoğlu, Asst. Prof. Nuriye Pekcan, Asst. Prof. Meftun Akgün and nursing students attended.
Prof. Nurcan Uysal: "We lecture, and you are learners"
Head of the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Nurcan Uysal stated that with the accreditation, the opportunities of the students will expand, and employment opportunities will increase. Stating that internship qualifications in higher education, mutual recognition of the achievements of education periods abroad and horizontal-vertical student mobility will be facilitated, Uysal said that "We lecture, and you are learners..."
Asst. Prof. Hatice Demirdağ: "Accreditation shows our quality"
Underlining that the basis of accreditation is quality and that this quality will be documented with accreditation, Asst. Prof. Hatice Demirdağ stated that "Accreditation shows our quality. We actually certify our quality by an institution. Otherwise, just because we did not buy it does not mean it is of poor quality, we will document it. For what is not written is not done, what is not proved is not proven. With this quality assurance, we aim to train qualified graduates who can keep up with the requirements of the age, are equipped with universal competencies, and are compatible with local realities. You are one of the most important stakeholders of this process because our aim is to train you."
Asst. Prof. Elçin Babaoğlu gave information to the students
Reminding that students can make an appointment for psychological counseling when necessary through the Department of Health, Culture and Sports (HCS), Asst. Prof. Elçin Babaoğlu stated that academic advisors can be consulted during office hours, and those who are curious about issues such as jobs and internships can find them in the career counseling system.
Asst. Prof. Nuriye Pekcan talked about the outcomes of the program
Explaining the output of the program, which aims to provide students with knowledge, skills and equipment during their education period, Asst. Prof. Nuriye Pekcan said that students will make a self-assessment and give information about the levels they see themselves at.
Asst. Prof. Meftun Akgün: Learning continues for life"
Stating that science changes very quickly, Asst. Prof. Meftun Akgün said that "In health, there is no such thing as 'this information is like this, I learned this today, I can do this for a lifetime'. What we know to be true today, what can be done tomorrow with the studies carried out, that evidence can be eliminated." Stating that the education and care she received during her student period and what she teaches now are different, Akgün stated that learning continues throughout her life.
