Prof. Güler Cimete: "We reflect our awareness to the service we provide"

Head of the Department of Midwifery Prof. Güler Cimete, who discussed all aspects of the care process with principles and examples, stated that "When we say care, we are talking about a process that encompasses all the knowledge, skills and approaches that we have learned, developed and put into practice in the field of midwifery and nursing. The maintenance process, on the other hand, is a structure in which certain steps come one after another. In this process, we reflect our knowledge, skills and emotional awareness, which are at the core of our profession, to the service we provide. We shape it as an understanding of care directed entirely to people. All these elements form the basis of our concept of care."

"We have a holistic and humanistic philosophy"

Cimete stated that they have adopted the philosophy of humane and holistic care and said that "The basic philosophy of our profession, that is, our point of view, forms the main structure that guides us. In this context, we have a holistic and humanistic philosophy. We need to embrace this philosophy and have the knowledge and skills to go with it so that we can reflect this approach at every step of the care process."

"We need to take into account the social, physical and biological environments"

Stating that they set out from a holistic environmental approach in care, Cimete said that "We contribute to the health of people by supporting them with our knowledge and practices. A person's social environment affects them, and they affect their social environment. Therefore, we also need to consider the social, physical and biological environment of the people we care for."

The event ended after the questions of the students were answered.
