The second term of "Target Friendship " project trainings has been completed
The second term of the Target Friendship Mentoring Program within the scope of Üsküdar University Scientific Research Project (BAP), which aims to bring international students and Turkish students together through cooperation, activities and trainings, and to improve their social cohesion with common goals, was held.
Values education and positive psychology were discussed
The first week of the training started with the "Values Education" of Prof. İbrahim Özdemir, who is a visiting professor in the USA. The training, in which the benefits of students knowing and discovering their own values, as well as having information about the values of others and directing their behaviors accordingly, were explained online.
Expert Psychologist E. Akıncı, on the other hand, presented topics that will lead to meaningful goals and actions such as positive emotions, being in flow in one’s actions, conducting and developing social relations, and being satisfied with oneself and one’s life with "Positive Psychology" training.
Creative drama and mentoring trainings were given
The trainings in the second week of the program were held in the Emir Nebi 1 conference hall at Üsküdar University Çarşı Campus.
The "Creative Drama" training, which aims to provide students with the ability to be active and participatory, to use body language correctly, and to confidently express their thoughts in a public setting, was given by Asst. Prof. Volkan Demir with a delightful art therapy and animation technique.
The "Mentoring" training, which aims to efficiently transfer the experiences and training of leader and mentor students to the new students (mentee) they are responsible for, was given by the Director of the Young Minds Academy, Asst. Prof. Nebiye Yaşar.
It was conveyed that solid friendships should be established through effective communication
The last week of the trainings started with the "Target Friendship & Ethics & Communication" training given by the International Student Relations Manager of the Department of Health, Culture and Sports (HCS) and the BAP Target Friendship Project Coordinator Asst. Prof. Gülcan Ayral. In the course, which was opened with the philosophy of the Target Friendship project, it was stated that the targeted solid friendships among the students should be established with effective communication, actions and decisions formed on a good, correct and ethical basis.
The applications of the communication part of the training were presented by Ayça Aracıçam who is International Student Relations Assistant, a graduate of the Faculty of Communication.
Activity and socializing were discussed
The "Activity and Socialization" training, which ended the program with a pleasant game by explaining the benefits of event organizations in academic and professional development, was given by Health, Culture and Sports (HCS) Department Activity Specialist M. Merve Günaltay.
The trainings were completed in a fun and interactive way
The organization of the trainings, which were completed in a successful, fun and interactive way, was carried out in cooperation with HCS International Student Relations Specialist Selda Yener, Üsküdar Continuing Education Center (ÜSEM) Manager Bengisu Altınten and Specialist Yüsra Katılmaz.
Target Friendship Team (TFTeam) leaders, International Student Support Team (ISSTeam), mentors and mentor candidates participated in the trainings.
Participants will be given a certificate of participation for these trainings that will benefit them in their future business and social lives at the university.
