3 more awards to Üsküdar Communication…

The results of the 33rd Young Communicators Competition organized by Turkish Journalists Association and Aydın Doğan Foundation were announced. Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication won 3 of the awards given in 4 branches and 14 categories. Therefore, Üsküdar Communication increased the number of the awards to 20 in the last 5 years.

Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication students added new ones to their awards.

This year, 62 successful students from 18 universities were placed in Turkish Journalists Association and Aydın Doğan Foundation Young Communicators Competition.

Üsküdar University students won 3 of the awards given in 4 branches and 14 categories at the Competition which was held for the 33rd time this year.

Outstanding achievement award for "The Journey of Abortion"

Üsküdar University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Journalism Student Esma Helen Sarıgül won the Outstanding Achievement Award in the category of Internet Publishing with her interview site titled “The Journey of Abortion” supervised by Prof. Süleyman İrvan.

Second prize to "Farmer's World"...

Faculty of Communication Department of Journalism student Hande Serra Keskin won the second prize in the Internet Media Site category with her news website "Farmer's World". The news site advised by Prof. Süleyman İrvan included news and interviews about farming.

Third prize for "My Career Guide"

Department of Journalism student Sefa Mert Kahraman won the third prize in the Website category with his website "My Career Guide”. Interviews on different professions were included on the website consulted by Research Assistant Atila Erdemir.

20 awards to Üsküdar in the last five years

Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication students won awards as follows;

One second and one third prize in the 29th Aydın Doğan Young Communicators Competition,

In the 30th Turkish Journalists Association Aydın Doğan Young Communicators Competition, one first, two second and one third prize,

In the 31st Turkish Journalists Association Aydın Doğan Young Communicators Competition, one first and three second prizes,

In the 32nd Turkish Journalists Association Aydın Doğan Young Communicators Competition, one first, four second and two third prizes,

In the 33rd Turkish Journalists Association Aydın Doğan Young Communicators Competition, including one outstanding achievement, one second place and one third prize.

With this regard, the university won a total of 20 awards.

There will be no award ceremony

A different format was developed this year instead of the award ceremony which brings together young journalists and connoisseurs of the journalism profession every year. Accordingly, the students who won awards in the competition will receive mentoring support from the leading names of the sector to develop projects that will contribute to earthquake awareness this year. With these projects, which will be developed until the end of the year, young people will gain an incentive to start their careers with the communication trends and tools of the age and will contribute to keeping the collective memory alive in earthquake regions.
