Üsküdar University has escalated its Quality Management System works with “Our Quality Priority in Higher Education” since January 2017. 

In today’s world, we see that quality approaches are pioneered in all action plans prepared for an institutional change management. For this reason, the actions and strategies for the Quality Management System, which are prepared in an institutional manner, hold a substantial position.

All managers have more information about the activities of other departments and all units work in cooperation and coordination with the process management approach as a result of commission meetings and audits, which are carried out periodically and improved structure in each day.

Quality Accreditation Missions

Üsküdar University is accredited by FEDEK, PEARSON, ISO 17025 audits with full accreditation. In addition to this, NP Feneryolu Medical Center and NP Etiler Medical Center hold ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System letter. 

The units of our University work with accreditation bodies such as İLEDAK, HEPDAK, MÜDEK, SABAK, and ORPHEUS standards. They are in coordination with the relevant departments and the activities of the departments are followed by assigning a quality representative from each unit.


The unit / units responsible for quality management within the organization organize liaison committees and contact meetings with accreditation bodies. Furthermore, information workshops are held with the FEDEK commission. Document sharing is provided through quality software within the organization.

In addition, inspections are carried out in our laboratory, where we are subject to ministry audits. The teams formed within the organization and adjusted to standards diagnose the improvement areas after these audits.

The findings at our improvement areas were concluded at the time of termination and were ensured to be spread and adopted throughout of our institution.

FEDEK, has committed to contribute to enhancing the quality of teaching FAS in Turkey by carrying out accreditation, evaluation and informing activities for different disciplines such as Science, Literature, Science-Literature, Language and History-Geography Faculties (FEF). The Higher Education Council (YÖK) recognizes FEDEK as a national quality assurance institution.


Principles of Reliability and Transparency 


The quality, transparency and reliability of university education is of great importance for the Bologna process. Regular evaluation of the programs and research activities offered by the independent organization throughout the education, contributes to the development of the universities.


Üsküdar University received FEDEK accreditation with 5 different programs


Five different types of program accreditation have been awarded as of April 14 2018, the accreditation decision regarding the first undergraduate programs, which was first evaluated by FEDEK. Üsküdar University is awarded with FEDEK Accreditation due to the evaluations made in Molecular Biology and Genetics (Turkish), Molecular Biology, and Genetics (English) programs of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences and Philosophy, Psychology (Turkish) and Psychology (English) programs of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Üsküdar University Foreign Languages Preparatory School is accredited by “Pearson Assured Accreditation” with full marks in student acceptance, education-training modules, student assessment system to class and infrastructure specifications.

UNESCO TWAS selected Üsküdar University, where many international students carry out their doctorate scientific studies with the support of TÜBİTAK, as the only Turkish University assigned as the Center of Excellence. 


Üsküdar University, the first thematic University in Turkey in the fields of Behavioral Sciences and Health, has become the only Turkish University assigned as the Center of Excellence by UNESCO TWAS due to its studies in Neurobiology, Cognitive Medicine and Brain Research. Üsküdar University will receive doctorate students within this context.

UNESCO chooses the doctorate students and academicians from the emerging countries to be accepted to the World Academy of Sciences, Centers of Excellence in order to enable the continuum of their studies.

Higher Education Quality Assurance Regulation

The University will be subject to evaluation by the Higher Education Quality Board in 2018. This evaluation was voluntarily requested by our university. Our Institutes, Faculties and Vocational School of Health Services units are supported with internal stakeholder meetings and the current studies are provided within the scope of these studies.

Evidence-Based Process Performance Management

Üsküdar University Top Management supports all improvement activities at every stage in terms of source and planning. In this context, the main objective of the Quality Management System, the philosophy of continuous improvement, is monitored by the Quality and Human Resources Department and disseminated throughout the organization.


The managers of Quality and Human Resources Department define “Quality Indicators” in accordance with the Higher Education Quality Assurance Regulation and ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System Standard in order to measure and improve process performance. 


Quality Indicators are determined by taking into consideration Üsküdar University’s vision, mission, quality objectives, basic service processes in defiance of students and employee’s needs.

An integrated service concept, increased governance, standardization, quality awareness, coordination, reduce errors and participation due to an effective quality documentation system is increased through inter-agency coordination in consideration of all these activities. Consistency increases in terms of service registration and sustainability. Thus, the institution is positioned as close to zero error as possible.
