Course Registration Procedures

2020-2021 academic year Spring Semester Undergraduate-Graduate-Associate degree students will be enrolled between the 15th to 28th of February 2021.

Course add-drop procedures will be held between March 1 to 7, 2021. (Course selections can also be made on these dates.)

Process Order

1- Our students will choose the courses they will take this semester through the course selection screen in the Student Information System (OBS).
2- Our students will confirm their online course registrations and submit them to their advisors for online approval.

3- Students who want to talk to their advisor about course registration can be contacted via the STIX system via messaging or from the e-mail addresses of their advisors.

For your questions about course registration, you can first contact your advisor teachers. 

Student counseling procedures will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of our University Student Counseling Directive.

Important Notes for Undergraduate and Associate Degree Students

  • The course registration process of our 1st grade students was done automatically. These students do not need to take any action regarding course registration. They just need to check the course assignments by entering the Student Information System.
  • Only 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 4th grade students will complete course registration through the Student Information System (OBS).
  • Our students must first register for the courses which they failed in the lower semesters and they did not take before. During the registration for these courses, the lower semester order is followed. Instead of the courses taken from the curriculum and not opened, other determined courses are taken.
  • The course load of our students per semester is 30 ECTS and the maximum course load is 45 ECTS.
  • Students cannot take courses that are not approved by their advisors.
  • With the approval of their advisors, students can repeat the courses they have taken before to increase their grade. Regardless of the previous grade, the final grade is valid in these courses.
  • 1st grade students cannot take courses from upper semesters.
  • Double Major and Minor students can make their course selections for double major or minor programs through the Student Information System (OBS) after they confirm their major course choices.
  • Students with a GPA of 3.00 and above can take one course from the next year with the approval of the advisor, and students with a GPA of 3.50 and above can take two courses from the beginning of the third semester, provided that they have successfully completed all the courses in the lower semesters.
  • The course registration process of students who have completed the 2nd grade in associate degree programs and 4th grade in undergraduate departments but have undergraduate courses will be made with the course registration form they have submitted to the student affairs.
  • In undergraduate departments, students whose GPA is below 1.80 at the end of the fourth semester will be on probationary status. Students with probation status can take a maximum of 2 courses from the next term with a 1.60-1.69 GPA, and a maximum of 3 courses from the next term with 1.70-1.79 GPA until they leave the probationary status. In order to leave the probationary status, the student first repeats some of the courses he has graded under (CC).
  • Registrations of the compulsory courses of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students of the Department of Psychology will be made over the OBS system according to their groups. An announcement was made on the Uskudar University website on the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences page regarding the course selections of the Department of Psychology. These students are required to add their elective courses through the OBS system and get approval from their advisor teachers.

  • Students who are placed by OSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center - SSPC) in accordance with the 667 Decree-Law will make their course selections by filling the course registration form they will take from the student affairs or the relevant secretariat with their advisors and submitting it to the student affairs department after it is approved by the financial affairs unit.
  • Those who want to take Turkish Language and Atatürk's Principles and History of Revolution courses in Turkish; for distance education can change their courses by applying to their advisors or the instructor of the relevant course.

Turkish Language II - TURK112 – Lecturer TA. Selçuk DUMAN (the language of the course is Turkish and its content is leveled according to students),
Principles of Ataturk and History of Revolutions II - ATA112 - Lecturer TA. Erhan BEKTAŞ (Course language English content is leveled by students),

These courses will only be given as distance education courses in the 2020-2021 Fall semester. After taking the course, you can contact the instructor of the relevant course for your problems and questions.

Important Notes for Graduate Students:

  • Students who will study scientific preparatory classes will choose scientific preparation courses in the curriculum.
  • Students who are in the thesis period must register for the thesis course.
  • The semester credit burden of our students is 30 ECTS.
  • Students cannot take courses that are not approved by their advisor teachers.
  • The Student will register a course through the Information System (OBS) and electronically offer it for consultant approval. With the approval of the consultant teacher through the system, the course registration process will be completed.
  • Students who wish to meet with the counselor teacher about course registration can talk via text or e-mail via the STIX system.

Important Notes for Medical Students: 

  • Course registration dates for our Faculty of Medicine students will be between 15th to 28th of October 2021. Course additions and drop-offs will be held between March 1 to 7, 2021. (Course selections can also be made on these dates.)
  • The course registration process of our 1st grade students was done automatically. These students do not need to take any action regarding course registration. They just need to check the course assignments by entering the Student Information System.
