Course Registration Procedures

2024-2025 Academic Year Fall Semester Undergraduate-Graduate-Associate degree students will be enrolled between September 30 - October 13, 2024.

Course add-drop procedures will be held between October 14-20, 2024. (Course selections can also be made on these dates.)

Course registration procedures for our first-grade students are done automatically. Our first-grade students do not have to take any action regarding course registration. It is only required that our first-grade students must control their course assignment by entering the Student Information System.

Process Order

1- Our students will choose the courses they will take this semester through the course selection screen in the Student Information System (OBS).
2- Our students will confirm their online course registrations and submit them to their advisors for online approval.

3- Students who want to consult their advisor about course registration can contact them via the STIX system via messaging or from the e-mail addresses of their advisor.

Student counseling procedures will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of our University Student Counseling Directive.

 

Important Notes for Undergraduate and Associate Degree Students:

  • Course registration procedures for our first-grade students are done automatically. Our first-grade students do not have to take any action regarding course registration. It is only required that our first-grade students must control their course assignment by entering the Student Information System.
  • Only second-grade, third-grade, and fourth-grade students will complete course registration procedures via the Student Information System (OBS).
  • Our students must first register for the courses which they failed in the previous semesters and they did not take before. During the registration for these courses, the previous semester order is followed. Other determined courses are taken instead of the courses taken from the curriculum and not opened.
  • The course load of our students per semester is 30 ECTS and the maximum course load is 45 ECTS.
  • Students cannot take the courses that are not approved by their advisors.
  • With the approval of their advisors, students can register again to the courses they have taken before to increase their grade. Regardless of the previous grade, the final grade will be valid for these courses.
  • First-grade students cannot take courses from the consecutive semesters.
  • Double Major and Minor students can select their courses for double major or minor programs through the Student Information System (OBS). after they confirm their major course choices.
  • Students with a GPA of 3.00 and above can take one course from the next year with the approval of the advisor, and students with a GPA of 3.50 and above can take two courses from the beginning of the third semester, provided that they have successfully completed all the courses in the previous semesters.
  • The course registration process will be done with the course registration form they have submitted to the student affairs for the students who have completed the 2nd grade in associate degree programs and 4th grade in undergraduate departments but they have courses to be taken from the previous semesters.
  • In undergraduate programs, students whose GPA is below 1.80 at the end of the fourth semester will be on probationary status. Students with probation status can take a maximum of 2 courses from the fifth and consecutive semesters with a 1.60-1.69 GPA, and a maximum of 3 courses with 1.70-1.79 GPA until they leave the probationary status until they are no longer on probationary status.

Courses that are opened for our international students are as follows:

TURK113 Turkish Language I (Lecturer Selçuk Duman - The language of the course is Turkish and its content is leveled according to students)
ATA113 Principles of Atatürk and History of Revolutions I(Lecturer Selçuk Duman - The language of the course is English and its content is leveled according to students.).

These courses will only be given as distance education courses in the 2024-2025 Fall semester. After taking the course, you can contact the lecturer of the relevant course for your problems and questions.

Those who want to take the courses in Turkish, which are Turkish Language and Principles of Atatürk and History of Revolutions that are opened for our international students, can apply their advisors or related lecturers to change their courses.

Important Notes for Graduate Students:

  • Students in the scientific preparation phase will choose the scientific preparation courses in the curriculum.
  • The semester credit load of our course phase students is 30 ECTS.
  • Thesis students are required to register for the thesis course). Fifth and sixth semester students who extend their semester can register for courses by paying the extension fee from financial affairs).
  • Students cannot take courses that are not approved by their advisors.
  • Students will register for courses through the Student Information System (OBS) and submit them electronically for advisor approval. The course registration process will be completed with the approval of the advisor through the system.
  • Students whose course registration process is approved can meet with their advisor via messaging or e-mail via the STIX system.
  • Students whose course registration is not approved cannot attend the courses.
  • One day after the advisor's approval of the course registrations, their student status will be active on e-Devlet.

Important Notes for Students of the Faculty of Medicine:

  •  The course registration procedures of our 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students of the Faculty of Medicine will be held between September 16-29, 2024 and the course add-drop procedures will be held between September 30-October 06, 2024. (Course selections can also be made on these dates.)
  • The course registration procedures of our 4th year students of the Faculty of Medicine will be held between September 09-23, 2024 and the add-drop procedures will be held between September 23-29, 2024. (Course selections can also be made on these dates.)

 

  • The course registration procedures of our 5th year students of the Faculty of Medicine will be held between September 02-15, 2024 and the add-drop procedures will be held between September 16-22, 2024. (Course selections can also be made on these dates.)
  • 1st year students' course registration process is done automatically. Our 1st year students do not need to take any action regarding course registration. They only need to check that their course assignments are made by entering the Student Information System.
  • 2nd year, 3rd year, 4th year and 5th year students will register for courses through the Student Information System (OBS).

Important Notes for Students of the Faculty of Dentistry:

  • - The course registration process of our Faculty of Dentistry students will be held between September 16-October 01, 2024. Course add-drop procedures will be carried out between September 30-October 04, 2024. (Course selections can also be made on these dates.)
  • - 1st year students' course registration is done automatically. Our 1st year students do not need to take any action regarding course registration. They only need to check that their course assignments are made by entering the Student Information System.
  • - 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students will register for courses through the Student Information System (OBS).
