Students of Nuclear Technology and Radiation Safety visited the Power and Machinery Laboratory

Students from the Nuclear Technology and Radiation Safety Program of Üsküdar University Vocational School of Health Services visited the Power and Machinery Laboratory, established within the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences. Accompanied by Program Director Instructor Dilek Aker and Assoc. Prof. Feride Kulalı Özdek, the students received detailed information about energy production through renewable energy sources. It was emphasized that it is of great importance to continue such academic and technical collaborations in the future.

The technical tour, held at the main campus, attracted great interest.

Laboratory coordinators Dr. Hamza Abunıma and Research Assistant Enis Kranda introduced the Nuclear Technology and Radiation Safety students to the Electrical Machines Training Kit, Renewable Energy Training Kit, Transmission Line Training Kit, and Power Electronics Training Kit.

They had the opportunity to reinforce their theoretical knowledge

Later, the students conducted experiments using the training kits on renewable energy, energy conversion, and power systems.

Through repeated experiments with the wind turbine and solar panel, students reinforced their theoretical knowledge about renewable energy sources and their importance, which they had previously learned in class.

Following the experimental activities, Dr. Hamza Abunıma answered the students’ questions. The visit helped increase students’ awareness of renewable energy and energy efficiency.

At the end of the technical tour, Instructor Dilek Aker and Assoc. Prof. Feride Kulalı Özdek thanked the Üsküdar University Power and Machinery Laboratory team for their hospitality. The importance of continuing such academic and technical collaborations between the departments in the future was once again emphasized.
