A cooperation protocol in education was signed between Üsküdar University and Vatan Educational Institutions. During the meeting, where the annual Science Idea Festival organized by Üsküdar University was highlighted, information was also exchanged about various training programs that could be offered to parents and educators.

The meeting, held at Üsküdar University's Main Campus Senate Hall, was attended by Üsküdar University Rector Prof.  Nazife Güngör, Üsküdar University Education Institutions and Guidance Services Manager Expert Psychological Counselor Özgür Akoğlan, and Vatan Educational Institutions General Manager Atilla Aktaş.

Prof. Nazife Güngör: “We need to encourage students to work on projects”

Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Nazife Güngör emphasized the educational programs offered by Üsküdar University. Güngör stated:
“Teachers have immense value. Their recommendations are always very important. At our institution, we offer various training programs on topics such as psychological counseling and stress management. Participants even join these programs from Azerbaijan. Üsküdar’s central location and established infrastructure are a great advantage for us.

Addiction is a serious issue nowadays. I would especially like to draw attention to addictions related to technology, gambling, alcohol, and drugs. I believe seminars and projects should be conducted on these topics. Additionally, during this period when pandemics are on the agenda in terms of public health, we can also work in this area.

I would also like to point out that we have expert faculty in every field. At the Science Idea Festival, I believe we should encourage students to work on projects. High school students place great importance on project work and are genuinely excited about it. In fact, I have witnessed students crying with joy after winning awards. This is truly a source of pride.”

Atilla Aktaş: “I believe teachers still hold high value in society”

Vatan Educational Institutions General Manager Atilla Aktaş highlighted the importance of teachers in society. Aktaş said:
“Recently, we have observed that parents need guidance when choosing schools, and we recommend institutions we trust. The purpose of this protocol is to enable teachers and institutions to work together.

I believe teachers still hold high value in society, and for this reason, a teacher’s recommendation is always very important. Our institutions conduct academic studies and organize in-service training and seminars for parents, students, and teachers.

I would like to emphasize the importance of receiving support from universities for these training programs. Certification programs can be organized, and these efforts can be carried out through our continuing education center. I would also like to mention that we can support teachers who wish to pursue master’s or doctoral studies. Üsküdar’s central location and the fact that it is not just a building university are advantages for us.”

Expert Psychological Counselor Özgür Akoğlan: “We will host students at our institution”

Üsküdar University Education Institutions and Guidance Services Manager Expert Psychological Counselor Özgür Akoğlan emphasized the importance of the Science Idea Festival in his speech. Akoğlan stated:
“The purpose of today’s meeting is to discuss education and organize informative events. Within this scope, we have signed a protocol. Additionally, we will host students at our institution. The Science Idea Festival is very important to us. This year, we will hold its 10th edition. As part of the festival, we will present awards to our students…”

The meeting concluded with a photo session.
