Trends in 3D Modeling were discussed
Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication, Visual Communication Design Department held an event titled "Trends in 3D Modeling". Üsküdar University Cartoon and Animation Department graduate, Freelance 3D Designer Zehra Betül Yıldız participated as a speaker at the event, where innovations in the world of 3D modeling, current applications and design processes were discussed.
The moderator of the event, which was held at the South Campus Fuat Sezgin conference hall, was Head of the Department of Visual Communication Design Prof. And Algül.
"These markets are open to abroad"
Freelance 3D Designer Zehra Betül Yıldız talked about the technical features and usage areas of 3D modeling tools that have come to the fore recently and stated that "When you are a 3D designer, there is a market for it. You may be working in a normal production or game company, but if you do not work there and if you are a freelancer, you can offer these 3D objects and designs you have made on certain platforms for sale. These markets are open to abroad. We generally use 3Ds in education and art projects; therefore, there is an opportunity in the industry for this."
"The more and different areas you do, the wider your connection becomes"
Yıldız talked about the methods of finding customers for freelance designers, platforms that support independent work and opportunities in this field and said that "It is not just freelancing. The workload depends on the work you do. The more and different areas you do, the wider your connection becomes. Since your business network is wide, you naturally get more business."
3D modeling trends were mentioned
Zehra Yıldız made evaluations about the basic steps followed in 3D modeling processes and the planning and implementation process of the process from the modeling stage to the completion of the design. Yıldız expressed that "When you prepare three-dimensional works, you need to prepare them according to what they actually look like. A T-shirt should not be attached to one size. If a button for a shirt is normally separate, it should be modeled separately in the same way. That includes hair. In other words, if it is a work that is piece by piece, it needs to be modeled piece by piece to show that texture. When you first start the modeling process, you first create the outline of the character. It is just that the character has a body. Then, one by one, you go to the details of their clothes, hair, a detail that you want on their body."
Innovations in the world of modeling were discussed
At the event, where innovations, current applications and design processes in the world of modeling were discussed, Yıldız stated that "If I have to describe the process of doing modeling. At first, we create a concept. We produce reference images. Once the concept is created, we take inspiration from these images to start modeling. Then we use the application."
At the end of the event, the participants had the opportunity to ask their questions to Zehra Betül Yıldız. In addition, at the end of the program, Yıldız was presented with a certificate of appreciation.
