Syrian students celebrate Syria's freedom...
Üsküdar University Intercultural Club organized a "Syria's Freedom Celebration Program". In the program, Syrian students studying at Üsküdar University celebrated the liberation of Syria with great enthusiasm. The students replaced the Syrian flag, which was among the flags of other countries at the university, with a new one. President of Üsküdar University Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, who participated in the program, said that he hoped that the recent events would turn into unity in the Islamic world. Tarhan also noted that the dictatorship is dead, but humanity will not die.
The program was held at Üsküdar University Main Campus Lobby Area and Nermin Tarhan Conference Hall.
Within the scope of the program, the flag was changed in the lobby area with the participation of President of Üsküdar University, Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan.
Syrian students replaced the old Syrian flag with a new one in the window where the flags of international countries are located.
Tarhan, who did not leave the students alone, gave important messages in his speech.
Prof. Nevzat Tarhan: "Dictatorship dies, but humanity will never die"
Stating that he hopes that the recent events will turn into unity in the Islamic world, Tarhan said that the dictatorship is dead, but humanity will never die. Tarhan expressed that "A new status quo has emerged there. Hopefully, this status quo will turn into the unity of the entire Islamic world. I see it as a planted seed. This is a very important day for you. It reminds us of the period after our war of independence. When Izmir was occupied, the Mufti of Denizli, Nusret Efendi, gathered his entire congregation when he came out of the mosque and had each of them pick up a stone from the ground. After taking that stone, he tells them to throw it towards Izmir. This is actually referred to as resilience in psychological warfare. In other words, it is important for the public to be aware of the occupation. Now, a new greatness is emerging here, in the middle of a geography where there is a fire. There will be many who cause mischief for this. Both here and outside. Of course, there will be, but the best answer to them is to focus on your goal. Do not mess with them..."
Tarhan: "The mujahideen in Syria came to a conclusion because they were not afraid of death"
Drawing attention to the spread of Vehn's disease, Tarhan stated that "One of the biggest enemies is hopelessness and pessimism. The Prophet said, "There will come a time in the End Times when Muslims will be like garbage on the river and water." Then he said, 'O Allah's Apostle, why will this be so? Is it because they are few?' "On the contrary, they're going to be a lot, but they're going to be like garbage," he said. They ask, 'Why is this going to happen?' 'It's going to happen because of two things. The first is Vehn's disease." Vehn's disease, world conversation. Right now, there is Vehn's disease in Türkiye, there is worldism, there is forgetting death and the afterlife. The second Vehn's disease is the fear of death. Not wanting to die. The mujahideen in Syria came to the conclusion because they are not afraid of death. These are the Companions, and in my eyes, each of them is like a Companion. Like those young companions in Asr-ı Saadet. Hopefully, this global system will not adversely affect them. If there is a collective unity and brotherhood, there will definitely be those who cause sedition, but it is necessary to be united."
After the flag change ceremony, the program continued at Nermin Tarhan Conference Hall.
Prayers were made in the program where the Qur'an was recitation. In the program where the national anthems were recited, there were moments full of emotion. The video, which tells the history of the events in Syria, attracted attention.
Sadık Paksoy: "Islam's message of peace and justice will reach all humanity"
Üsküdar University HCS Deputy Director Sadık Paksoy said that young people should have the Quran in one hand and technology in the other. Paksoy stated that "Today, there are 2 billion Muslims in the world, but unfortunately they are in disgrace and shattered. You are the ones who will reverse this trend. A generation that has a good command of new technology, knows its history, and loves its geography. With the Holy Quran in one hand and computers and technology in the other, you will rebuild Islamic civilization. With your faith and effort, Islam's message of peace and justice will reach all humanity. A hundred years ago, we were one, we were together. These borders were drawn by the imperial powers. It is up to you to remove those boundaries. Only then can the truths of Islam spread like light on the earth. Be vigilant against strife, make up for the shortcomings of your brothers and sisters instead of criticizing them, and embrace them. This land is entrusted to us by our martyrs. Let's not forget them so that the homeland does not leave us. I congratulate you in advance for your work and efforts towards these great ideals."
Ahmad Yazan Almahmoud: "We must build a state based on the rule of law"
Ahmad Yazan Almahmoud, a 4th year student at Üsküdar University, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Department of Software Engineering, talked about what needs to be done for the reconstruction of Syria. Almahmoud said that “Praise be to God that the Syrian people have triumphed over the tyrant Bashar al-Assad and his criminal gang that has ruled our country for more than 55 years with a regime of oppression, torture and fear. This victory was written with the blood of millions of martyrs, the cries of immigrants and the great struggles for freedom. Now we have a big task to undertake as young people: to build the future of Syria. We must build a state based on the rule of law and restore the dignity and freedom of our people. We must rebuild the infrastructure of education, health and justice destroyed by the Bashar al-Assad regime on the foundations of science, morality and virtue. We must open schools, faculties and universities to raise the younger generations as free, knowledgeable, dignified and moral individuals. All these efforts will be a well-deserved result in our struggle for a future of peace, freedom and justice that our people long for. May Allah have mercy on our martyrs, heal our wounds and bring our country to the bright future it deserves."
Abdulrahman Tilawi: "Health is the cornerstone of a country's progress"
Abdulrahman Tilawi spoke about the reconstruction of the health care system in Syria. Tilawi said that "In the wake of the devastation caused by the war, rebuilding our health system is at the top of our priorities. Health is the cornerstone of a country's progress, and Syria's health infrastructure has been severely damaged by years of neglect and corruption. Today, we must take basic steps such as the modernization of our hospitals, the development of infrastructure and the training of medical personnel in accordance with international standards. In addition, the integration of advanced technologies into the healthcare system is not a luxury, but a necessity to provide effective and fair health services. With the principles of merit, honesty and transparency, together we can build a healthcare system that offers every citizen a dignified life. Rebuilding our health system is an indication of our belief in the future of Syria and our responsibility to our people."
In the program, where great enthusiasm was experienced, Syrian desserts, coffees and teas were also tasted.
