Assoc. Prof. Özge Uğurlu: "We are all on a stage in everyday life"

Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication, Head of Public Relations and Publicity Department Assoc. Prof. Özge Uğurlu made a presentation titled 'Effective Communication and Presentation Techniques' to the Azerbaijani delegation. Uğurlu talked about the importance of body language, drawing attention to the main elements that are important in an effective speech. Assoc. Prof. Özge Uğurlu stated that "We are all communicating. When communicating, we overlook a point that is important to us. 'Are we able to communicate effectively?' What we mean by effective communication is that we have a speech and a text that we think is in every effective communication. What we mean by this text is not to pick up a piece of paper and read it. We are talking about telling someone something. The style of communication is extremely important when communicating with the people in front of us. In fact, how we say it can become much more important than what we say. We are all on a stage in everyday life. We do not necessarily have to speak while editing, explaining ourselves, expressing ourselves, speaking, communicating verbally or non-verbally in this scene. When we communicate, we do not just share our thoughts. At the same time, we are mentally in communication with the people in front of us, and this communication must be reinforced with body language, eye contact, the words we tell, our intonation, our voice, our gestures and facial expressions."

Traditional gifts were presented

At the end of the training, the participants were given their certificates. Afterwards, the Azerbaijani delegation presented traditional gifts to the Rector of Üsküdar University, Prof. Nazife Güngör. After the group photo shoot, the event ended.
