Prof. Nevzat Tarhan: "In these productions, there is an animalization of humans"
Marriage programs, which left its marks on a period in our country and attracted great reaction, were banned by the RTÜK. However, the dosage of immorality has increased even more in the new generation marriage programs that continue to be broadcast on digital broadcasting platforms. The program called "Aşk Adası” (Love Island), which has recently started to be broadcast on a digital broadcasting platform, is one of these immoral programs. In this production, in which dating life is determined as a competition format, nudity, adultery and various perversions are presented under the name of entertainment program. Unfortunately, the "Aşk Adası" program, which is about the relationships that selected young girls and men will establish with each other and is decorated with all kinds of lies for the sake of viewing, is unfortunately mostly followed by young people. President of Üsküdar University Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan made special statements to Milli Gazete about the new generation marriage programs that openly threaten our future generations and cannot be taken seriously.
They take refuge in the purity of words and normalize evil"
Making important evaluations about the new generation marriage programs, President of Üsküdar University Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan stated that "Marriage programs show the society by normalizing evil by hiding behind the purity of the words in their names. The word love is a very pure word. Such productions, which encourage random sexuality under the name of love, are one of the main reasons that will cause great problems in society. It is a great travesty to remain silent about such programs and to allow such evils to spread. Taking a stand against this is a moral and scientific stance. The fact that people tend to do this leads to other problems. We can look at the societies of countries in the world that have watched such productions before us and did not make a sound. A pedophile association was founded in the Netherlands. The Pedophilia Party was founded and closed. However, it was established. It is clear where such situations will take our society."
"There are 3 stages in the relationship between men and women"
Emphasizing that there are stages in male-female relations, Nevzat Tarhan said that "There are 3 stages in male-female relations. The first stage is friendship relationships. Friendship relationships have rules. The boundaries are clear, and it has a purpose such as school friendship and work friendship within the framework of respect. The second stage is the acquaintance phase, in which there is no sexuality, and there is an approach in the style of dating. In this relationship, sexuality is postponed. For this second phase, television productions began in the United States. Even if a woman and a man establish friendship, television programs are made with the motto 'True Love Awaits and Sexual Intercourse Is Not Experienced Until You Get Married'. The third stage is the state of being a spouse in which sexuality exists. In the programs we are talking about, they use the word love, which is a romantic expression, and use the application that is eroticism, that is, the 3rd stage."
"These are productions in which the animalization of humans exists"
Nevzat Tarhan stated that "We can see that the applications made in the program are in the status of erotic actions. In other words, normally, people cannot show such intimacy in a social environment. We can see that there is a random rapprochement. As a result, these are productions in which the animalization of man exists. It encourages promiscuity. If a person accepts promiscuity, there is nothing we can do with them. You cannot do anything to a person about it, and it is one’s own choice. However, when it comes to reflecting this as normal to society, there must be things that need to be done,” and Tarhan underlined that the increasing audience of these programs is a big problem.
"A symptom of moral corruption is that evil begins to become common"
Nevzat Tarhan stated that "When these programs continue, there is a situation where evil becomes ordinary. Does a person regard promiscuity as a bad thing or not? One should ask oneself these questions. Does a person approve of open marriage? Do we approve of a woman or a man having 3-4 lovers at the same time? Open marriages began in America and Europe. When a person is married, one gets permission from the person that one is married to and establishes a love relationship with another person. Do we approve of them? If we do not approve of them, we cannot consider such programs as normal. All of the people who approve of the questions we asked ourselves above are people who see such productions as normal. The subconscious gradually accepts this and makes it normal and ordinary. Our thoughts and actions begin to evolve accordingly. The biggest symptom of moral corruption in society is that evil has become ordinary."
