Özlem Denizmen, who was the winner of the 9th High Human Values Award and known for her work in the field of financial literacy and women's economic empowerment, organized the 'Aspire Leaders of Türkiye' event. Representing Üsküdar University, International Student Relations Manager and Hedef Arkadaşlık Project Manager Gülcan Ayral and International Student Relations Specialist Selda Yener attended the event. Stating that they held bilateral meetings at the event, Ayral informed about the Hedef Arkadaşlık project and common aspects with the Aspire in terms of supporting student development.

Aspire Institute, which is an institution that was established with the initiative of important names from Harvard University and contributes to youth development to reduce inequality of opportunity, organized an "Aspire Leaders of Türkiye" event for Turkish students graduating in 2024. The event was hosted by Özlem Denizmen in İstinye, Istanbul.

Representing Üsküdar University, International Student Relations Manager and Hedef Arkadaşlık Project Manager Gülcan Ayral and International Student Relations Specialist Selda Yener attended the event.

Prof. Meena Sonea from Harvard University, CEO of the institution and program instructor Prof. Can Erbil from Boston College delivered speeches at the event.

At the event, where students who graduated from The Aspire Leaders Program came together, it was discussed that young people face obstacles due to unequal conditions in university and business life. It was emphasized that the program aims to help them overcome obstacles by supporting student development and to reach more young people, and that it will contribute to young people being among the leaders of the future.

The goal is to train the leaders of the future...

It was stated in the bilateral meetings that the Hedef Arkadaşlık Program, which is a scientific research and social responsibility project of Üsküdar University, establishes a bridge between international students and Turkish students with the trainings, activities and mentoring program it provides, and aims to train the leaders of the future by ensuring student harmony and development. It was discussed that they are open to future cooperation on common ground and that active negotiations will continue.

International Student Relations Manager and Hedef Arkadaşlık Project Manager Gülcan Ayral stated that "We realized that the project had a lot in common with the Hedef Arkadaşlık Project. In this respect, it was a very productive event. Various national and international professors, businesspeople and opinion leaders were present at the event. Although this is the main topic, financial literacy was also discussed at the event. We held bilateral meetings at the event. I talked about our Hedef Arkadaşlık project and what we have in common with the Aspire in terms of supporting student development. Our negotiations will continue in order for our students who take part in our project to receive these trainings. I mentioned that as Üsküdar University, financial literacy is important and that a student club will be established. We will develop the issue of financial literacy and plan a meeting with them about what can be done."
