We prefer shopping malls rather than neighbors!

The old neighborhood and street culture decreasing gradually, the phenomenon of neighborhood continues to disappear given the development and metropolitanization of cities. Üsküdar University Sociology Department conducted a research on the concept of like a blot out of blue guest in Istanbul.

According to the results of the research, welcome visits still continue among the neighbors. As the monthly income increases, the intimacy decreases in the neighborhood, while those with a high level of education consider the door-to-door guest more negatively. 

Prof. Ebulfez Süleymanlı said that in modern society, individuals prefer to spend their time in consumer places like shopping malls instead of getting to know their neighbors and strengthen their relations.
