Evaluating the helicopter crash in which Iranian President Raisi lost his life, retired pilot and Asst. Prof. Kazım Dalkıran expressed that "This is an aviation accident. It is not possible to fly with a helicopter in foggy conditions."

Asst. Prof. Kazım Dalkıran stated that "Pilots are forced to say, 'Take off and fly, you will land somewhere anyway!'"

Pointing out the importance of domestic and national defense industry production, Asst. Prof. Prof. Kazım Dalkıran said that "Thanks to the UCAV, the wreckage was reached. UCAVs are very suitable for such missions, and they are very valuable."

Retired pilot from Üsküdar University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Asst. Prof. Kazim Dalkıran evaluated the helicopter crash in which Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian lost their lives.

VIP helicopters never fly alone!

Stating that the model of the helicopter that crashed was produced for the first time in 1979, and that model continued to be produced at very different times afterwards, Asst. Prof. Member Kazim Dalkıran said that VIP helicopters have never flown alone, and the Iranian President's helicopter has never flown alone.

Asst. Prof. Kazım Dalkıran informed about VIP flights and said:

"VIP always has a helicopter with it for protection, and if this helicopter cannot fly immediately due to a malfunction when it is needed anywhere, the President and his team take the other helicopter in its place, and they continue their duty. Time is critical here. The time of the President and VIP officials is very valuable. It seems that there is a pressure of duty here.”

In mountainous areas, the cloud sits on the ground and acts like a fog...

Certainly, the helicopter does not fly in foggy weather. There is only one condition, the helicopter does not fly in foggy conditions. I insist on this. This is an aviation accident. The conditions of flying by helicopter in foggy weather are misunderstood. It is not possible to fly with a helicopter in foggy environments. This is the only condition. Because the fog is on the ground and the flight is not close to the ground without seeing the ground. In mountainous areas, the cloud sits on the ground and acts like fog, and there is no flight in these conditions. The Iranian president's helicopter was not flying alone, and the other helicopters knew everything that was going on. Flying in areas where there is no signal is always dangerous."

Pilots are forced to say, 'Take off and fly, you will land somewhere anyway'!

Stating that he tries to explain the issues related to weather conditions carefully, Asst. Prof. Prof. Kazım Dalkıran said that "When we say helicopter, the difference from the plane is this; The helicopter does not need a place to land. It does not need a large space. However, due to the flexibility that comes from this, pilots are always forced into a situation like this: 'Take off, fly, you will land somewhere anyway'. No, the helicopter cannot land everywhere. The helicopter can land in places with ground visibility. Look at past accidents. There is an accident that happened before the Eşref Bitlis accident."

The importance of domestic and national defense industry production...

Pointing out that the importance of domestic and national defense industry production is better understood in this helicopter crash, and the importance of ATAK helicopters, UAVs and UCAVs produced in Türkiye, Asst. Prof. Kazım Dalkıran stated that "Thanks to the UAV, the wreckage was reached. UCAVs are very suitable for such missions; they are very valuable. UAVs, UCAVs are not only for the fight against terrorism. They found it at the moment when many climbers were lost.”

Assist. Prof. Kazım Dalkıran also gave examples of helicopter accidents in the past and reminded that the helicopter that went to fly the President in 1993 crashed in the Elbistan region, Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu's helicopter crashed again in Göksun - Elbistan due to weather conditions, and the commander of Osman Erbaş died.

Stating that "Helicopters do not and should not fly in places where there is no ground visibility. Planes land on the runway and that no risks should be taken”, Prof. Kazım Dalkıran said that "Helicopters do not land everywhere, helicopters do not fly in foggy conditions. In high conditions, where there is visibility and where there is ground visibility, the helicopter flies.”
