Üsküdar University, Faculty of Engineering and Social Sciences, Computer Engineering Asst. Prof. Burcu Gürbüz delivered a lecture on “A numerical approach to solving SIR outbreak models” at Germany’s Johannes Gutenberg-Mainz University (Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz).

She shared information about her studies

Asst. Prof. Burcu Gürbüz is currently working as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the Institute of Mathematics at Johannes Gutenberg-Mainz University upon their invitation. She delivered a lecture on “A numerical approach to solving SIR outbreak models” and shared important information about her studies.

“Numerical solutions are very important in understanding dynamics of disease”

The seminar, which included faculty members, PhD students and academicians from the Mathematics Institute, showed great interest. Gürbüz emphasized that numerical solutions of epidemic models are very important in understanding Dynamics of disease.

Gürbüz answered the questions of the participants after the seminar.
