A call from Üsküdar University: “Move for your Health”

Üsküdar University invited everyone to act to raise awareness within the scope of World Health Action Day. In the program attended by academics from Üsküdar University, the importance of movement was emphasized. Not only was it emphasized, but everyone moved along with the music.

Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences Dean Haydar Sur, Head of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Department Assoc. Prof. Defne Kaya, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics Lecturer Assoc. Prof. Korkut Ulucan and Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Faculty Member Asst. Prof. Yıldız Erdoğanoğlu attended the event held at Üsküdar University Çarşı Campus.

In her opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Defne Kaya drew attention to the importance of movement and said that "Our aim is that at least the people here learn what inactivity leads to at the end of the meeting."

Obesity is the common disease of the world

In his presentation titled 'Inactivity', research assistant Mahmut Çalık pointed out that physical inactivity is the leading cause of death in Europe and said that "Currently, many of us are inactive individuals. Events such as the development of transportation vehicles and the increase in the use of mobile phones lead us to this. In fact, obesity is the common disease of the world. To avoid that, we will ensure that depression and psychological problems disappear from the moment we take physical activities into our lives.

Asst. Prof. Yıldız Erdoğanoğlu emphasized the importance of physical activities, exercises and sports for our health.

At the end of the program, the participants moved by playing games accompanied by music.
