Üsküdar University attends G20 – N20 Summit in Japan



Üsküdar University, the first and only Turkish University to represent Turkey at G20 Summit, participated in the Neuroscience 20 Summit within the G20 Leaders Summit in Japan. At the summit where brain and spine health interventions were evaluated, Üsküdar University President Prof. Nevzat Tarhan gave a presentation titled “Turkish Brain Project: Precision Medicine in Psychiatry”. 
 
Üsküdar University, the first and only Turkish University to represent Turkey at G20 Summit, participated in the Neuroscience 20 Summit within the G20 Leaders Summit in Japan.

The summit, which was a platform to evaluate brain and spine health initiatives, was held at Osaka University Nakanoshima Conference Hall on 27-28 June 2019. Prof. Nevzat Tarhan from Üsküdar University and its application partner NPİSTANBUL Brain Hospital made a presentation at the summit where brain and spine health interventions will be evaluated.



Turkish Brain Project: Precision Medicine in Psychiatry

Üsküdar University President, Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan gave a lecture on “Turkish Brain Project: Precision Medicine in Psychiatry”. Prof. Nevzat Tarhan described precision medicine as getting the right treatment at the right time to the right person and informed about his studies on sensitive medical studies in psychiatry.

Prof. Nevzat Tarhan and his team are developing more precise diagnostic categories based on biological, psychological, and socio-cultural variables. They are looking at specific mutations in relevant brain circuits that explain some cases of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or autism.

The 6th Annual Neuroscience-20 aims to build global consensus and partnerships across the G20 nations on Brain and Spine Initiatives in order to rapidly introduce new diagnostics and therapeutics for patients with neurological, neuro-psychiatric, mental and spine disorders.
