Üsküdar University's Great Loss

Prof. Antikacıoğlu’s funeral will be held at Kadıköy Surp Takavor Armenian Church on 02 February, Saturday at 13.00. Afterwards, he will be buried at Bağlarbaşı Surp Haç Armenian cemetery.

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our faculty member Prof. Levon Antikacıoğlu from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Psychology.

Prof. Levon Antikacıoğlu who was under treatment for a while, passed away on 29 January 2019.

We share the sadness of his family, friends, colleagues and students.

We are deeply and greatly sorry for our huge loss.


Who is Prof. Levon Antikacıoğlu? 

He completed his middle and high school  in the Italian High School. He graduated from University of Milano with a full Italian State scholarship. He came back and graduated from İstanbul University  Faculty of Literature, Department of Psychology. Consequently, he conducted his doctoral degree from the Department of Psychiatry. He received his “Medical Sciences Doctor” degree in 1981 from İstanbul University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry. He continued to work in the same department. Subsequently, he resigned and worked in private enterprises.  He studied at University of London's Maudsley Hospital in 1987, and he was trained on Behavior Therapies. After he came back to İstanbul, he held management positions at private nursery and day care institutions for children.
