Eric KANDEL

Born in Vienna on November 7, 1929. He is the neuropsychiatrist who won the Nobel Laureate in Physiology and Medicine in 2000 for his work on the physiology of memory in neurons. Eric Kandel has conducted studies in memory storage and molecular mechanisms in mice. He is a member of the US National Academy of Sciences and a member of the German and French National Academy of Sciences. He currently holds fifteen honorary degrees.
