Ayhan SONGAR 1926 – 2 July 1997

He was the founder of Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty, Department of Psychiatry and has been the chairman for thirty-four years. Ayhan Songar was also one of the founders of contemporary psychiatry. He was the President of Turkey Green Crescent Society. He was a member of the New York Academy of Sciences. He was also among the founders of Intellectuals Association, Turkey's National Cultural Foundation and Turkish Literature Foundation. He was the President of Intellectuals Association and Turkey's National Cultural Foundation. Ayhan Songar, who has published many articles on poetry and music, has twenty-six published works. Ayhan Songar's long statement “Die Menschen und die Psychologie” has been cited many times as a main source in psychiatric journals in Germany. In addition, he served as the Director of the Ministry of Justice, Forensic Medicine Institution and Office Branch.
