Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: "Don't Let Generation Z be a Lost Generation"

The research conducted by Uskudar University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Department of Sociology and the Faculty of Communication revealed the current attitudes of young people towards family and marriage institution. 3 thousand studying in state and private universities in the 7 regions of Turkey with the participation of 266 students study drew attention to interesting results. 58.4% of the youth defined the institution of marriage as "A happy togetherness". In the research to the question "Why is marriage important?", the answer was “To share life with the one I love” with 89.2%. Participants “What do you pay attention to when choosing a spouse?“ in this question, answered ”benign" with 80.5 %. Being educated, having a good profession and job was less preferred. Uskudar University Founding Rector Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, on the other hand, stated that the results of the research should be read and understood well and warned that "If the generation Z is not wanted to be the lost generation, so it is, the zero generation, you should go to an education system that builds characters".
