“Destroyed Dreams Exhibition” was opened, which has the traces of the earthquake

A meaningful exhibition was opened within the scope of the graduation projects of Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication Public Relations and Publicity Department 4th year students. Malatya, where houses and schools were destroyed in the Kahramanmaraş-based earthquake, developed a social responsibility project with the theme "Do not let education experience an earthquake" in order to provide education and solidarity support for students preparing for high school and university exams in Akçadağ Ören Neighborhood. Within the scope of the project led by Asst. Prof. Nejla Polat, 4th year students opened the "Destroyed Dreams" exhibition with the designs they prepared. Moreover, Üsküdar communicators provided books, stationery materials and video training sets for the exams to the earthquake victim students within the scope of the project.

Public Relations and Publicity (PRP) Department 4th year students Hilal Sarıal, Çağla Işık, Gözde Çalışkan, Oğuz Kerem Maraz, Bengisu Kkahya, Kayra Alan developed a social responsibility project with the theme of "Do Not Let Education Experience an Earthquake" under the leadership of their advisor Asst. Prof. Nejla Polat.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition, which was held in the foyer area of Üsküdar University South Campus, was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Communication Prof. Süleyman İrvan and the academicians of the faculty.

Various activities were implemented in the project carried out within the scope of the social responsibility project

Students of the Department of Public Relations and Publicity carried out many activities in the project carried out within the scope of the social responsibility project. They bought stationery supplies and handed over by Asst. Prof. Nejla Polat and Adnan Yokuş to the teachers of Ören Primary School. Later, books for preparation for high school exams and preparation for university exams, which was bought and sent by , a group of volunteer teachers in Hatay and Suparo Publications, were distributed to students in Malatya Akçadağ under the leadership of Teacher Eylem Gümüş.

Student of Üsküdar University Radio, Television and Cinema Department Murat Yavan who also works at the Sınav Preparatory School, sent test books for the exam from the publications of the Sınav Preparatory School. Projector and Curtain purchased by Tolga Sert, Mine Esiner Özen, Asst. Prof. İnci Çağlayan, Asst. Prof. Nejla Polat and Vedat Karaman were sent to the earthquake victims again. Moreover, Video Preparation education kits for YGS and LYS exams were sent by a group of volunteer teachers in Hatay under the leadership of Teacher Eylem Gümüş.

Supplementary training will be provided for the exams

Within the scope of the project Supplementary training for the exams will be provided to students, who are preparing for YGS and LGS, with the projector, screen and training video sets sent in the classrooms in the tents by Ören Primary School Director Behzat Öğretmen and School Psychological Counselor Eren Öğretmen.PRP Graduation project of the texts about "dreams before, during and after the earthquake written by students in the earthquake area and sent by Eren Öğretmen on May 12, 2023, was also on display. In the project carried out by Hilal Sarıal, Gözde Çalışkan, Bengisu Kahya, Oğuz Kerem Maraz, Çağla Işık, Kayra Alan and their advisors Asst. Prof. Nejla Polat, the images created via photographs from the earthquake region were presented to the participants at the exhibition held in the South Campus C – D Block Lobby. Within the scope of the project, it is aimed to provide moral and psychological support to the students in the earthquake region with colorful letters written and sent by Üsküdar University academicians and employees with the slogan "Be also with us with one letter".
