Prof. Dr. Cemil Tascioglu is given the 6th High Human Values Award

Our first hero for health who died in the fight against coronavirus, the decedent Prof. Dr. Cemil Tascioglu was awarded the 6th High Human Values Awards presented by the Uskudar University Senate. The High Human Values Award is given by the public to individuals and institutions that are exemplary in their field in order to keep 24 gold values alive. Among the award recipients, were Sociologist Prof. Dr. Beylu Dikecligil, Specialist in Psychiatry and Neurophysiology Prof. Dr. Bilgen Taneli, writer Hayati Inanc, artist and president of the AHBAP (dude) Association Haluk Levent taking part also.

The decedent professor who dedicated his entire life to his students and patients Prof. Dr. Cemil Tascioglu became the first physician in Turkey who died due to the coronavirus. At the same time, the name of the first Kovid-19 in detecting cases in Turkey, Prof. Dr. Cemil Tascioglu was admitted to Istanbul University (IU) Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, where he has been working for many years, with complaints of fever, cough, and shortness of breath on March 16.

“You can try all the drugs on me!” he said

Prof. Dr. Cemil Tascioglu was taken to the intensive care unit on March 18 after his condition worsened and he was put on a ventilator. “You can try all the medications on me,” he said as he entered the ICU. Prof. Dr. Cemil Tascioglu, whose treatment was carried out by a board of many specialist physicians, died on April 1, 2020, despite all interventions.

High Human Values Award given

The decedent Prof. Dr. Cemil Tascioglu was presented with the 6th High Human Values Award presented by the Senate of Uskudar University in order to keep the 24 gold values alive.

Professor of General Internal Medicine at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine decedent Prof. Dr. Cemil Tascioglu, who died during the coronavirus treatment at Capa Medical Faculty, was presented with an award "on behalf of all health workers who sacrificed their lives in the fight against coronavirus".

Cemil Tascioglu's award was presented to his colleague, Public Health Specialist, Uskudar University Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Haydar Sur, instead of his son Onur Tascioglu, who was unable to attend the ceremony due to the last-minute situation. Prof. Dr. Cemil Tascioglu's award was presented by Prof. Dr. Muhsin Konuk, Vice-Rector of Uskudar University.
